A Network Engineer is required for our public sector client who are based in Bradford. The successful candidate will bring solid networking experience and a collaborative approach to supporting critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support for LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple sites
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers
Assist with firewall rule changes and basic policy management (Palo Alto or similar)
Support VPN and remote access solutions
Monitor network performance and respond to alerts using tools like SolarWinds or PRTG
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes
Participate in change and incident management processes


Skills & Experience
Experience in network support or engineering roles
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and network diagnostics
Experience with Cisco networking equipment (CCNA-level knowledge)
Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls and/or Cisco ISE to implement wired and wireless network access control and micro segmentation.
Familiarity with NAC solutions and enterprise network security practices

The role

The person

• At least 5 years commercial experience in a similar networking environment including builds and configurations knowledge with client delivery exposure
li>Ability to troubleshoot routing and switching protocols including WAN & LAN technologies
• Responsible for maintaining and extending the network infrastructure
• Good technical understanding of multiple network vendor CLI languages
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, R&S, firewalls and security issues
• Experience of installing, configuring, and maintaining routers and switches within a production environment
• Experience of WAN circuits and solutions - MPLS and VPN’s

We are seeking a strong Network Engineer with active DV clearance to join a critical MOD programme. The successful candidate will be a hands-on network specialist, ideally CCNA-certified (CCNP desirable), and will work in a secure, on-site environment, delivering robust and secure network solutions to classified systems.

• Provide network engineering support to the Defensive Network Services

• Install, configure, and maintain networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)

Network Engineer | Goole | 3-Month Contract

The Network Engineer  would possess advanced or high-level expertise in Checkpoint, Cisco DNA.

An understanding of the support and troubleshooting aspects of Cisco DNA and Checkpoint is crucial for the network engineer, and any deployment or installation experience is advantageous.

Understanding BAU/Operational concerns with DNA is essential for the network engineer.

Responsibilities and Technologies of the Network Engineer:

• Cisco DNA (DNAC) experience is required - High level or advanced in order to troubleshoot, support, and fix issues.
• A working understanding of firewalls, such as Checkpoint or ASA, would be advantageous.
