Summary:

An NHS Trust is seeking a Network Architect to help with a major upgrade project for 6 months.

The Network Architect will play a critical role in the successful delivery of the Server Farm (SF), Data Centre Consolidation (DCC) and Telephone infrastructure upgrade (TIU) projects. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions that support the consolidation and transformation of existing data centre infrastructure.

  • Lead the design and architecture of network solutions to support the migration and consolidation of services across multiple data centres.
  • Work with the Head of Infrastructure in running the architecture review board sessions
  • Ensure network designs align with enterprise standards, security policies, and business continuity requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, server, storage, security, and application teams to deliver an integrated solution.
  • Define and document the current state and target state of the network architecture, including L2/L3 topology, VLANs, routing protocols, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Plan and support network changes, including upgrades, new deployments, and decommissioning activities in coordination with project timelines.

+ Experience in requirements management and associated tooling.
+ Demonstrable experience in the creation of IP Addressing designs or in the configuration and support of said design.
+ Demonstrable troubleshooting skills and approach to defect resolution.
+ Strong technical networking knowledge (with vendor certifications) of routing protocols, virtual routing instances, VPNs, Security zones and policies, QoS, high availability
