Bank Radiographer - Diagnostic Imaging

Duties and responsibilities:
- To be part of a team delivering high quality, efficient radiographic service.
- To provide highly skilled and specialised imaging for patients, to make informed decisions on the diagnostic imaging required and to demonstrate a professional, caring and responsible approach to the duties carried out.
- To work as a Senior Cross Sectional Radiographer to a high professional standard and to provide assistance, training and guidance to others, mainly to radiographers, helpers and students in order to maintain these standards.
- To be responsible for the standard of own imaging work and that of other supervised radiographers and students: This standard will be that set by Spire.
- To ensure that an efficient throughput of patient examinations is achieved. This will also involve advice of the booking of appointments and advice on preparation as required.
- To ensure that patients are cared for in the department especially in their own area of work. To communicate to patients and others any delays likely to affect them, and within the standards set by the HPC to describe examination findings, if appropriate
Who we're looking for:
* Qualified Radiographer
* Current Registration with HCPC with no restriction on practise
* Experience of working in diagnostic imaging
* Excellent communication skills
Contract: Bank / Ad-hoc shifts
Hours: Department is open between 07:30 and 22:00 with some Saturdays

What you'll be doing
The Level 2 X-Ray Technician role is a specialist opportunity, and the scope of the position has a significant impact within the Operations team. Key responsibilities include the x-raying of cartridge assemblies and rocket motors, viewing and assessing to ensure all components meet stringent acceptance criteria in accordance with company procedures. Another responsibility of the role includes Leak Testing of cartridges using a mass spectrometer to agreed test limits.
The Radiography Department is continuing to grow and we are excited to be receiving our first of two Computed Tomography (CT) machines to aid us in out mission to provide the very best quality product to our customers.
As a Level 2 X-Ray Technician, you'll input and conform to risk assessments, explosive safety processes and procedures, and support with audit and safety standards. This role has a focus with health and safety procedures, so experience of working in similar environments would be beneficial.
Part of this role will support the Cell Leader within the Operations team to document, support and learn competencies and skills to agreed plans.
Characteristics & Skills
- Seasoned experience within similar NDT / X-ray roles.
- Proven capabilities of using digital X-ray systems.
- ASNT/PCN Level 2 certification.
- Proven self-inspection experience and understanding/interpretation of relevant test ATP, QAI and relevant X-ray techniques.
- Comfortable working under time pressures to balance priorities to agreed deadlines.
- Excellent team player and communication skills.
- Level 3 qualifications advantageous (not essential).
