The Role: We are seeking a Snowflake Data Engineer to lead the design, development and deployment of cloud data platforms and analytics solutions using Snowflake. This combines hands-on engineering, solution architecture and technical leadership. You will translate business requirements into scalable Snowflake solutions, guide project teams on best practices for data modelling and ELT design, and ensure that outcomes deliver measurable value for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery within Kubrick’s squad deployed on client project engagements, ensuring that Kubrick is recognised for the quality and scalability of its solutions
- Translate complex business and data requirements into robust Snowflake designs, including data ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers
- Design and implement secure, performant Snowflake environments including RBAC, data masking, and policies/entitlement understanding
- Build and optimise ELT pipelines (using tools such as dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or native Snowflake tasks) to support batch and real-time use cases
- Collaborate with Kubrick and client stakeholders to inform delivery planning, data strategy, and architecture decisions
- Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, reusable patterns, and contribution to Kubrick’s internal knowledge base
- Line-manage and mentor developers within the team, supporting their professional growth and certifications (including SnowPro)
- Troubleshoot and tune query performance, storage usage, and cost efficiency across Snowflake accounts
- Act as a subject matter expert during consulting engagements, providing advice on best practices for data sharing, and integration with other technology (e.g. Databricks, Starburst, Tableau, Power BI)
- Ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements such as scalability, security, reliability and cost optimisation
Key Requirements & Technical Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or analytics, including designing and delivering enterprise grade data solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (or comparable cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, RedShift, Synapse) including data modelling, performance tuning and cost management
- Familiarity with SQL best practices, ELT patterns, and modern data transformation frameworks such as dbt
- Competence in at least one programming language (Python preferred) for automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including security, IAM, and storage services
- Experience deploying and maintaining production pipelines using tools such as Airflow or Dagster
- Understanding of CI/CD principles, version control (Git) and software development lifecycle.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence technical and business decision makers
- Experience in delivery leadership and mentoring junior engineers

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in designing and implementing Snowflake-based cloud data platforms that are scalable, secure, and business-aligned. This individual will play a pivotal role in guiding enterprise clients through their data platform modernisation journey, leveraging Snowflake's capabilities to enable data democratisation, advanced analytics, and AI-driven insights.
As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with client partners, business stakeholders, and technology teams to define Snowflake strategies, design robust architectures, and implement best practices. **What experience you'll bring:**
**Must-Have Competencies:**
+ 8+ years data architecture experience - Enterprise-scale solutions across multiple sectors with proven delivery track record
+ Technical leadership at scale - Leading 15+ person cross-functional teams and serving as technical escalation point for C-level stakeholders
+ Full data lifecycle mastery - End-to-end expertise from ingestion to consumption, including governance, security, and both batch/real-time processing
+ Business-technology translation - Ability to align data strategy with business objectives and communicate across all stakeholder levels
+ Snowflake platform expertise - Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, data sharing, Snowpark, performance tuning, and cloud ecosystem integration
**Must be eligible for SC clearance**
**Nice to Have:**
+ Presales & business development experience - Track record supporting opportunity qualification, bid reviews, proposal development, and client-facing sales activities
+ Data governance & compliance - Strong background in security frameworks, regulatory compliance (GDPR), data lineage, and quality management
+ AI/ML integration capabilities - Experience with MLOps, analytics platforms, and integrating AI/ML into data architectures
+ Agile delivery & thought leadership - Proven agile/hybrid delivery experience with contribution to practice growth through proposition development and knowledge sharing
+ Cloud-native architecture expertise - Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, data lakes, real-time streaming, and infrastructure-as-code
**Experience & Qualifications:**
+ Experience: Minimum 7-10 years in data architecture, engineering, or consulting roles, with at least 3+ years in Snowflake solution architecture.
+ Education: University degree required.
+ Preferred: BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field; Snowflake certification(s) strongly desirable.

Senior Data Engineer
London based (Hybrid working 2-3 days a week)
6 months contract
£550 to 700 per day (Umbrella)
iO Associates are working with a Snowflake Partner Consulting firm, who are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support on some of their key Snowflake projects, to better serve and deliver valuable data products to their customers.
The right candidate will be well versed in Snowflake (including Snowpro certifications) as a Data Engineer, with strong SQL and Python skills, as well as tools such as dbt and Airflow. Additional skills in
The successful candidate should have the following skills:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake data platform.
- Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT processes.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Extended skills across AWS, Azure, dbt, Airflow etc.
