The Role

The Warehouse Operations Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics (Multi-User) will play a critical role in leading all activities across a fast paced operation in Stoke, operating within a Multi-User, Open & Closed Book, 250,000+ sq. ft. site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting Line: Reporting to the site Assistant General Manager.

The Warehouse Operations Manager Role

Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for all operational activities, including warehousing, distribution, strategy, continuous improvement and projects.
  • Overseeing daily warehouse activities including goods in, inventory control, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Managing an established team of 7, keeping up to date with HR and Employment Law legislation and driving a culture of high performance.
  • Being a responsible key holder, opening and closing the warehouse regularly.
  • Reporting on KPIs relating to productivity, cost efficiency and safety.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Project management, supporting with rolling out new projects across the business. Working closely with the Directors to develop business plans and create long-term company strategy.

Candidate Profile

  • Have experience in a similar role managing warehouse operations, ideally within a fast-paced high volume distribution environment.
  • Demonstrate a track record of improving efficiency.
  • A commercial mindset, drive and ambition to succeed with full flexibility on working hours over 7 days a week.
  • Proven success in scaling operations and leading change.
  • Excellent people management with strong HR/Employment law knowledge.
  • Educated to degree level (desirable) A level (essential)
  • Digital Strategy and Content Creation experience, using Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Experience of working towards and achieving set KPI’s, as well as motivating staff to do so.
  • A UK driving license, ideally clean.
  • Experience within the floral industry would be advantageous.
  • Must be adaptable to work in all areas of the business with a professional but “hands on” approach, being able to work in a fast-paced manual environment, which will be quite physical, as and when required.
