Here at Selby we employ a team over 750 colleagues. A site steeped in history, we are the UK's number one manufacturer of customer private label cooking sauces and pickles. We have been serving our customers out of our Selby site since 1914. We produce more than 160 million units per year across 600 different product lines for customers such as Morrisons, Tesco & Asda.

This role operates within defined procedures, plans, budgets and programmes. The day to day work is assigned by a manager or supervisor. Duties in this role include:

  • Ensure the efficient running of the SMI and any associated equipment; (logopak,spice capper ,top tagger , video, pallet stacking)
  • To troubleshoot and resolve minor issues (mechanical and procedural)
  • To liaise with Area Process Leaders, Line Coordinator, Engineers and Shift Managers
  • Ensure the correct glass and caps are on the line;
  • Ensure the efficient running of the Capper, this includes assisting in or completing a capper changeover when required;
  • Consider quality, health and safety issues and the implications at all times;
  • Ensure that you work to "Right First Time" ethos;
  • Trouble shoot and maintain efficiencies with mechanical and procedural understanding;
  • Work along side QA;
  • Completing data capture;
  • Resolving minor issues, mechanical and procedural;
  • Mentoring and assisting with the training of new staff.

What you'll be doing:

As an Mobile Support Engineer, you will respond and resolve support calls allocated to the mobile support team and will perform installations, configuration, operations, and maintenance of business critical systems across multiple sites. As such, you will be:

  • Ensuring that all support calls are managed consistently (courteously, clearly, helpfully) according to agreed standards and appropriately agreed business impact and priority assigned
  • Provide excellent customer experience, both verbal and within toolset is paramount in all activities and is continually improved
  • Ensures that Business Critical tickets are handled appropriately and are escalated to the appropriate escalation groups
  • Identifies articles that can be published to end users and service desk, to support user self service/and first line resolution of support calls
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify corrective actions to prevent repeat issues and re-work with support teams, business and partners
  • Build working relationships with site General Managers & key stakeholders to understand the impact on IT Service from changes or amendments to business processes and share with the team
  • Where required, perform regular system monitoring and alerting to verify the integrity and availability of appropriate resources and processes to allow services to perform effectively and in line with business expectation
  • Support Service Transition and Integration in part taking in onboarding activities to support the Greencore service model

What we're looking for:

  • Expert knowledge of running/managing /using systems within a manufacturing environment
  • Good telephone skills and an ability to provide technical support over the phone
  • Logical problem solving skills and techniques
  • Good analytical and communication skills to be able to converse with business users in their language
  • Experience working within a multi-site organisation or Group
  • Good knowledge of server operating systems with particular focus on Windows Server 2003/Active Directory
  • Good knowledge of desktop operating systems and associated hardware and software (MS-Office/Lotus Notes)
  • Knowledge of leading business applications (ERP/CRM/SCM/HR)
  • Strong planning, communication and presentation skills coupled with the capability to listen and influence
  • Understands and has a strong appreciation for the `frontline' role service desk operations have on shaping the overall relationship between IT and the business
  • You must hold a full and clean UK drivers license and own your own vehicle for this role
  • You may be required on occasion to perform out of core hours work

Here at Manton Wood , we have a team of around 1,700 colleagues. We produce sandwiches and wraps for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Co-op, Asda, Morrisons, Boots, Aldi and Lidl.

Our Manton Wood site has a gym, restaurant with hot food and a staff shop available to all our colleagues.

What you'll be doing

Food processing operatives work with specialized equipment in food production. They use ingredients from a recipe to make large batches of a food brand's products, and they also monitor industrial kitchen equipment.

  • Monitor food processing machines and make adjustments to the controls for devices such as industrial slicers, mixers, graters, etc.
  • Program equipment to operate according to company and specification standards and make changes to weights and thicknesses.
  • React to any type of alarms or malfunctions of the equipment and operate the shut-off switch when necessary.
  • Load ingredients into the mixing/slicing machines and measure the amount needed by following customer specifications and company standards.
  • Comprehend written instructions and recipes from the company when putting together ingredients and starting a new batch of products.
  • Remove the finished product from the machines and push batches to the next step of the process for production.
  • Verify that each finished item meets the quality standards of the company by observing the visual appearance of the product.
  • Clean and sanitize all machinery parts at the end of each shift and clean the workspace at the work station by following company hygiene standards
