About the role

As Maintenance Team Leader at Reckitt’s Nottingham site, you will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing maintenance activities within your area. Leading a team of 5–8 multi-skilled technicians and engineers, you will ensure equipment is maintained to GMP standards, supporting safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities

  •   Be responsible for all Manufacturing Maintenance activities within their area of responsibility  

  • Have direct reports of 5 – 8 Shift Technicians & Asset Care Engineers, across mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled disciplines  

  • Have the following as key points of contact:  Asset Care Manager, Site Engineering Manager, Facilities Manager, Electrical Manager, EHS Manager, Technical Project Manager, Operations Managers, Product Supply Leaders, Quality management, external suppliers and contractors  

  • Be responsible for ensuring all items of plant and equipment are maintained to the appropriate standard to ensure their performance is safe, reliable and in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice whilst continually improving performance, plant and systems to support the development of the Manufacturing Facilities and contributing to the Supply function meeting its customer service, quality and cost targets.   

The experience we're looking for

  • Able to lead a multi-disciplined manufacturing maintenance team to ensure delivery of functional Key Performance Indicators which contribute to the Supply function meeting its customer service, quality and cost targets.   

  • Able to ensure the Maintenance team embraces the Reckitt culture and consistently demonstrate this through the application of the core values  

  • Have either Degree in Engineering or related subject with experience in engineeringmaintenanceproject management roles or HNCHND engineering maintenance management experience or equivalent

  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Make technical decisions and provide solutions to complex engineering problems.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, sales, and production, to ensure project alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, project plans, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest engineering techniques and technologies, recommending improvements to enhance project efficiency and quality.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc.) – preferred but not essential
  • Proven experience in engineering project management and contractor coordination
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in engineering tools and software
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification

About the role

As a Shift Technician,  you will provide multi-skilled (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) support to assigned to an area team including operating, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, improvements and repairs needed to deliver world class results in the key areas of Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Cost and Teamwork.

Your responsibilities

  • Participate in developing and assist in communicating short-range and medium-range maintenance plans for manufacturing lines.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance team leader to execute the Maintenance repair on assigned lines.
  • Monitor equipment uptime, work with operations to prioritise repairs and initiate improvement plans when necessary.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities on lines.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to internal and external customers.  
  • Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures involving safety, quality, hygienic design, good manufacturing policies, lean manufacturing and other plant programs.
  • Determine root cause of equipment failure using Reckitt tools and implement improvement plans.
  • Job recording and detailed handovers.
  • Use the CMMS SAP system and resource to ensure that all agreed maintenance and improvement work is completed and ensure accurate and timely feedback of all tasks performed.
  • Ensure that procedures, as defined in the CMMS SAP system are correctly implemented in all areas.
  • Participate effectively in daily/weekly meetings.

The experience we're looking for

  • Minimum of time served apprenticeship to level NVQ 3 or equivalent.
  • 5 years relevant work experience in a team-based manufacturing environment; on high speed packaging equipment preferred.
  • ONC/HNC in the mechanical and/or electrical disciplines preferred but not essential.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, or reliability maintenance background is desired.
