About the Role
The Assistant Head for SENCO will have overall responsibility for the strategic development of the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy, including oversight of the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising all students’ attainment and achievement.

We’re looking for someone who:
- Has achieved Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status
- Has previous experience working within an SEN/ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) setting
- Is calm, confident, and resilient in the face of challenges
- Can work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider education team
- Is confident leading lessons or small groups when required
- Is committed to empowering every pupil to reach their full potential

About Us
Baston House is an independent day specialist provider of education and care for young people and adults aged 5 to 19 years who have been diagnosed with Autism (ASC).
Baston House School ensures that our school environment supports learning and promotes the well-being of pupils and staff through a strong sense of community cohesion. Creating a sense of community, develop social understanding, improve well-being, enhance academic achievement, and develop independence are at the root of our school community. We work hard to provide a safe school where pupils are included in every aspect of school life.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.
