Your opportunity
+ The candidate will need significant experience with the primary focus of the role being on asset allocation research within the Multi-Asset team, working with colleagues to develop well-considered investment views for implementation by the portfolio managers
+ There may be some additional responsibilities for further supporting the team's portfolio managers in a range of areas, particularly in communicating investment views to clients. The team manages an array of funds, model portfolio services and advisory accounts with varying risk tolerances and methods of implementation
+ The candidate will need a strong interest in financial markets and economics, and have the flexibility to research a range of different asset classes within the team's frameworks
+ The candidate should have the immediate ability to contribute effectively within a collegiate environment but with an ability to research independently and contribute to the improvement of investment frameworks
+ You will be required to conduct research into a range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities, considering both macroeconomic and market-based factors in line with the team's approach, and also to improve analytical frameworks used for making both tactical and strategic asset allocation decisions
+ You will be expected to generate investment views for potential implementation in client mandates in support of the portfolio managers, in areas such as regional equity tilts, credit rating preferences and currency hedging decisions
+ Communication of investment views and the broader macroeconomic and market backdrop to internal stakeholders, clients and the press will also be a key component of the role. This will include producing and presenting research for the multi-asset team's weekly and monthly asset allocation research and markets update meetings
+ You will produce written content for communication to both clients and the press on market and economic topics and events, and produce performance and market commentaries for client reports across a range of mandates
+ You may also be asked to help with both regular and ad hoc day-to-day tasks involved in the management of client mandates, such as generating performance reports and writing commentaries

Must have skills
+ A deep interest in the markets and macroeconomic research process involving independent, autonomous analysis to arrive at relevant investment implications - please note this is not a portfolio management role
+ A strong drive to push beyond the first level in trying to understand what is driving markets day-to-day - you will be expected to work with a reasonable degree of independence and to problem solve effectively
+ Experience in constructing econometric models
+ Experience in researching either equity markets or fixed income and currencies from a top-down, asset allocation perspective
+ The flexibility to cover the whole breadth of asset classes (equities, fixed income, currencies & commodities) - the team operate as generalists, and each member is expected to provide challenge across the full spectrum of asset classes covered
+ The ability to adapt to and develop the team's analysis frameworks

The role involves undertaking detailed economic, quantitative, market analysis and research assignments. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing two of Citywire’s most important data resources: our Audience and Fund Manager databases, ensuring we have the most accurate, insightful view of the asset management industry.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys investigative research, spotting patterns, and continuously improving how things are done. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business and use a mix of online sources, internal data, and third-party contacts to keep our information sharp, consistent, and meaningful.

What you’ll be doing:

-Maintaining and developing our Audience Database, classifying professionals across the asset management space using Citywire’s taxonomy.

-Updating the Fund Manager Database, mapping international career movements and affiliations of leading fund managers.

-Researching company structures and job roles across the DACH region to better categorise professionals and evolve our classification model.

-Becoming a go-to expert on asset classes, sectors, fund manager profiles, and investment companies.

-Identifying ways to improve internal processes and data quality.

-Supporting internal teams and special projects with reliable, accurate insights.

-Collaborating with our tech and data teams to shape smarter, more efficient systems over time.

-Enhancing your knowledge of the asset management industry and developing your expertise in financial data and investment trends.

-Learning to develop automation and efficiency improvements within the team, including working with SQL and Looker Studio, and building the knowledge needed to help run the monthly Fund Manager Ratings crunch.

-Research & Data Skills: You enjoy following leads, analysing patterns, and verifying information using a range of digital sources and datasets.

-Language proficiency: Fluent or professional level in German and English, both written and spoken.

-Excel Knowledge: You’re confident with VLOOKUPs, pivot tables and similar tools.

-Attention to Detail: You notice things others might miss, and take pride in accuracy.

-Organisation: You’re comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.

-Communication: Clear and professional, especially when sharing insights with different teams.

-Industry Interest: Some understanding of asset or wealth management is a bonus, but we’ll help you build this knowledge if it’s new to you!

At Labcorp in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire we are looking to recruit a Senior Research Analyst to join our expanding Metabolism team. They cover a range of study types including animal metabolism, biodegradation, dermal penetration, environmental fate and plant metabolism. This will give you great exposure in working with different product lines and provide you with a wider skill set and experience.
Job responsibilities include:
+ Performing a variety of laboratory assays following standard procedures and study protocols
+ Critical review of processes and study plans, suggesting changes where appropriate
+ Reviewing own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment
+ Maintaining study documentation alongside client and regulatory expectations
+ Use of LIMS software
+ Contributing to wider method development and validations projects
+ Maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment at all times
To be successful in this role, you will:
+ Have a relevant scientific degree.
+ Have experience in a fast paced regulated laboratory setting, understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and study protocols
+ Be able to effectively communicate throughout the lifecycle of a study with peers and study management
+ Be highly motivated to produce high quality work against regulatory expectations
+ Be able to motivative and influence others to ensure timely delivery of high quality results, and use own experiences to help in training of junior team members
+ Have experience in troubleshooting problems and informing appropriate channels for the reporting of issues
