Building & Construction Project Manager
Carbon60 is seeking an experienced Building & Construction Project Manager to join their aerospace and defence cleint's team based in Portsmouth. As the Building & Construction Project Lead, you will be responsible for setting up and leading CAPEX projects from inception and feasibility, through to design and specification, and final handover.
In this pivotal role, you will:
* Set up and manage Multi-Functional Project Teams to deliver projects in accordance with internal requirements and compliance to the company's procedures.
* Lead MFTs through the detailed design of Building Services for a range of projects, including major plant replacement and refurbishment works.
* Liaise with clients, architects, and other design team members to develop detailed design briefs for Building Services.
* Prepare reports, drawings, and specifications, and manage project external costs from request through approval to completion.
* Develop and maintain excellent client relationships, and provide project management of suitable projects.
* Monitor installation works on site and ensure compliance with technical and health & safety requirements.
Skillset:
* Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a Multi-Functional Project Team, including external professionals.
* Previous experience in Capital Investment Project management and project delivery, ideally within a Facilities Management or consultancy environment.
* ONC/HNC or equivalent in a Building Engineering Services design-related discipline.
* Demonstrable experience of taking projects from inception and feasibility, through design and specification, to site monitoring and handover.
* A good practical understanding of mechanical and electrical plant, systems, and equipment in relation to engineering design, operation, and maintenance.
* Relevant professional membership, such as CIBSE, IMechE, or IET.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency in IT tools, including SharePoint, MS Project, and G Suite.

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead our clients yard and transport operations at a busy Builders Merchants. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient running of day-to-day activities, with responsibility for managing teams, maintaining high standards of customer service and ensuring compliance across both functions.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the yard, warehouse and transport teams.
- Manage a team of 9 to ensure orders are send out correctly and on time.
- Monitor all goods in/out of the depot.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained, compliant and scheduled effectively.
- Coordinate with internal teams to manage stock levels, deliveries and collections.
- Ensure company compliance of all policies, legislations and procedures.
- Take responsibility for health and safety and any issues that arise.
- Manage, monitor and develop staff members.
- Be involved in strategic development and improvements to the business.
- Oversee transport co-ordination.
- Handle operational issues and customer complaints professionally and effectively.
- Ensure housekeeping is well maintained including presentation of the branch.
- Maintain accurate administrative records.
Experience and skills required for this position:
- Previous foreman/management experience ideally within a builders merchants, logistics, construction or distribution environment.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Forklift truck licence would be ideal but not essential.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong people management skills.
- Someone who is keen to manage and develop the team.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick, informed decisions.

Purpose of the role:
To undertake extensive building contract administration, the preparation of legal contract tender documentation, specification, supervision and monitoring of capital contracts for Council owned Housing.
Tocarry out inspections of void and tenanted properties to agree work specifications.
To be responsible for the delivery of a customer focussed reactive maintenance service. Proactively engaging with residents to provide support, advice and interventions to ensure that properties are effectively maintained, all repairs are undertaken promptly and to high standards, contractors are monitored and supervised ensuring performance targets are achieved and high levels of customer satisfaction is attained.
