Role Description
We are seeking a talented and creative Fashion Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Fashion Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and stylish designs for a variety of collections, from concept to final product. The role requires a strong understanding of current fashion trends, fabrics, and garment construction, along with the ability to translate creative ideas into commercial designs that appeal to our target audience. You will work closely with the design, production, and marketing teams to bring your concepts to life.
Working Location
Hybrid will be considered with flexible office travel to London or other offices on a weekly basis or when required to support with meetings.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop unique and on-trend fashion collections, from initial concept sketches to final designs.
• Trend Research: Stay updated with industry trends, competitor collections, and customer needs to inform design direction.
• Technical Drawing: Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for production teams.
• Fabric Selection: Source and select appropriate fabrics and materials that align with design vision and production requirements.
• Collaborate: Work alongside the production team to ensure designs are feasible for mass production and within budget.
• Sample Development: Oversee the creation of samples and make adjustments to designs based on feedback.
• Time Management: Manage design timelines and ensure all collections are completed on schedule.
Qualifications
- Fashion Design and Textiles skills
- Experience in Embroidery and Fitting
- Strong understanding of current fashion trends
- Excellent creativity and design skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred
- Experience in sustainable fashion practices is a plus

- Plan and deliver the subject of “Research & Design” through a clear and appropriate approach towards the student, compliant with UKHE standards
- Develop students' creativity, passion for the subject and problems solving skills through group work, field trips, and industry-supported projects
- Ensure that students are appropriately supported and provided with timely and constructive guidance for their academic developments and pastoral care
- Develop the students’ learning progress and monitor the learning approach, student experience and developmental stages of the students
- Preparation of teaching materials for units assigned in accordance to IM methodological guidelines and indications received by the local Director of Education
- Assess students’ progression in formative and summative assessments throughout the academic year
- Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with international pool of lecturers, students of different nationalities, staff and the local Director of Education
- attending meetings as Programme Boards, team meetings, Faculty meeting at the beginning of each Unit, PCM, prep meetings for the Units by terms, training sessions ((tutors induction, assessment/marking workshops)
In addition, the Senior Tutor role will undertake further academic duties such as to:
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of designated academic provision

- Engage with the academic and creative culture of the School through the development and participation in School and Company projects, lectures and events, enabling currency & innovation within the related field of study

Education and competencies (Tutor)
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in a discipline relevant to the taught (for example: fashion design, business, marketing or styling) or equivalent from a recognized academic institution. Postgraduate Degree in relevant field would be an advantage; PGCert in Higher Education is desirable
- At least 5 years' industry experience
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience in the field
- Good team player (you will be working closely with the Programme Leaders for the courses and other relevant department, namely Library, Academic and Student Services, Careers Services and Business Development)
- Dynamic, creative and enthusiastic personality, with an interest to shape talents and to support them towards the achievement of their potentials
- Possess excellent communication, organization and academic administration skills; good time management and punctuality
