The role

Working within the Operations group, a Technician plays a key role in the manufacture of our graphene-based products, whether that's being involved in our Front End of Line (FEOL), Back End of Line (BEOL) or Photolithography.

Operating high tech semiconductor processing and/or test equipment, our technicians ensure that we continue to produce high quality products for our growing customer base.

This is an opportunity to get actively involved with electronic devices that deliver superior performance, robustness, and energy efficiencies to help solve issues in many different applications including automotive and healthcare.

We're looking to grow our production teams and actively on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals with a background in any manufacturing environment who are wanting a new challenge in a high tech industry, while making a difference in the electronics/ semiconductor space.

Tasks

  • The handling of semiconductor wafers.
  • The inspection and imaging of semiconductor wafers and devices.
  • Collect and record data to validate our products against test specifications.
  • Operate mechanical and electrical test systems.
  • Monitor all processes to help prevent or identify equipment malfunction.
  • Maintain & support the optimisation of equipment processes through evidential led means.
  • Working with senior colleagues across departments, assist in trouble shooting problems and to help develop process improvements.
  • Succinctly report and record results using our bespoke software.

Requirements

Education and Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or equivalent

Experience

  • Proven experience of hands-on approach to tasks & problem solving
  • Background and experience in high tech manufacturing
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing facility with R&D/Lab experience desirable

Skills and knowledge

  • Diligent and methodical approach to work with a focus on completing tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and workloads across projects.

Communication

  • Ability to communicate at all levels with both internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to present information clearly and appropriately for the audience.

  • Experience soldering/ performing PCB repair and fault finding will be highly advantageous

CAD Technician

The Role:

Barhale is one of three delivery partners within the Anglian Water Integrated Operational Solutions Alliance. IOS is a medium complexity, capital maintenance and enhancement, Civil and MEICA, design and build delivery unit working across Water and Water Recycling to support the successful implementation of the Anglian Water AMP 8 business plan.

Technical drawings include pipeline layouts for water and wastewater treatment sites:  Pipe support details, pumping station amendments for new pumps & pipework. New treatment equipment for sites: Sand filters, screens, storm tanks and flow meter chambers.

Collaborate with the Senior CAD Technician, Design Engineers and Project Engineers to identify drawing requirements and identify the information required to produce the design. Such as topographic surveys, site plans, electrical designs and design information from suppliers.

Designs must meet project objectives and be compliant with client, statutory and industry standards, regulations, and specifications. Including safety, buildability & maintainability, and environmental best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work together with Project Engineers to understand project design requirements and complete 3D scans of the working area onsite to capture all the design information that is required.
  • With guidance from the Senior CAD Technician, follow complex instructions and diagrams to create or modify drawings. Manage the drafting process: from conceptual, detailed and construction-ready stages of a technical design drawing. 
  • Produce plans, elevations, technical details and building layouts, including pipeline and instrumentation schedules and hazard warnings.
  • Provide input to the pre-construction information, including risk assessments, so that it can be prepared and updated at appropriate intervals.
  • Work with all members of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in project reviews relating to design, progress, and construction to receive questions and challenges in a constructive manner

  • Successful design completion on time and within budget.
  • Innovative designs using Anglian Water Standard Products or new technologies or products to protect the environment, e.g, re-use of existing assets or concrete alternatives.
  • Completed designs that reduce the health, safety and construction risks to construction teams and operations through the Design Risk Assessment process developed with the Design Team.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality drawing work while meeting tight deadlines and adapting quickly to shifting project priorities

We are looking for an experienced animal technician to join our friendly, hardworking team to be actively involved in the daily care and maintenance of animals within our Germ Free biofacility situated in Cambridge.

The job duties will involve general Isolator and Isocage husbandry, looking after welfare requirements, record keeping, checking and recording environmental parameters, health monitoring, general hygiene and cleaning. Additionally, you will have responsibility for colony management and completion of procedures, including Home Office Licensed procedures.

Ideally you will hold an Institute of Animal Technology Level 2 or equivalent qualification, or at least GCSE (A-C) in English, Maths and a Science subject (ideally Biology), or equivalent. It is also desirable that the successful candidate will be expected to hold, or be ready to apply for a Home Office personal license with Home Office modules A - B.

You should be positive, reliable and able to interact with team colleagues and research staff. Experience in a technical/laboratory setting and completing basic procedures is essential. Experience completing regulated procedures would be an advantage. Specific experience working with rodents housed in Isocages and Isolators would be beneficial however training will be provided for experienced technicians who do not have Germ Free and Isolator / Isocage experience.

In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.
