About The Role
The Laboratory Technician will provide the knowledge and skills to assist with the ongoing testing and registration of samples as well as basic maintenance of instruments that are fundamental to the laboratories operation. From time to time training and cover may be required during the laboratories operational times on the day shift.
Key Responsibilities
- To register and analyse samples submitted to the laboratory following published Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Standards.

About The Role
We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. Northwick Power is an industrial processor of food waste located on the north of Gloucestershire close to Chipping Campden, and the plant has been designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks. Through a process called Anaerobic Digestion it utilises the waste as a raw material to create methane, which in turn is used to generate electricity and gas both of which are exported to the national grids and are 100% renewable.
The waste we use to produce the methane can be in solid, liquid or sludge form, packaged or unpackaged. Out-of-date and damaged foods from retailers, supermarkets and factories or food waste from restaurants, pubs and hotels, offices, hospitals and schools.
In addition, domestic kitchen food waste, waste from food processing factories, plus animal by-products (Category III) from the food industry, can all be processed by the plant.

We are currently looking for an Anaerobic Digestion Lab Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be an integral within our processing and treatment plant facilities and will be responsible for looking after the plant biology and day to day testing of the AD Plant
You will be responsible for:
- Collaborating as part of a dedicated operations team overseeing all AD and Power Plant procedures
- Performing daily routine tests and carrying out analysis using technical instruments
- Undertaking samples from the AD treatment plant
- Recording and reporting on findings and results
- Ensuring quality controls are maintained for peak plant efficiency, and promptly reporting any non-conforming results.
- Take a proactive approach to resolving process issues.
