Purpose of Role
We are recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician to support our Avanti West Coast contract in Crewe.
Job Description
You will provide planned, preventative, and responsive maintenance at Crewe Train Station as well as several Avanti rail-related offices close by. This role requires a multiskilled approach, combining electrical expertise with wider building maintenance capabilities. This position is more static than mobile – buildings are closely linked however you would be given a van.
Responsibilities
- Undertake electrical maintenance, repairs, and compliance work, including fault finding, emergency lighting tests, fuse board inspections, PAT testing, rewiring, and repairs to sockets and switches.
- Carry out general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor fabrication work.
- Support planned preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all facilities remain in excellent condition.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and resolve issues efficiently to minimise service disruption.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance checks.
- Work collaboratively with site teams and report issues requiring specialist input.
- Drive and operate a company vehicle responsibly while travelling between sites.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Proven commercial electrical experience.
- Experience in wider building maintenance (multi-skilled preferred).
- Strong fault-finding and repair skills.
- 18th Edition & NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo the process).
- Full UK Driver's License (no more than 6 points, no drink-driving offences).

Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Electrician
- Responsible for plant wide proactive and reactive Electrical Maintenance activities to ensure the optimum performance of the factory.
- Covering planned and reactive maintenance activities across manufacturing lines

- Identify and resolve recurring plant issues through engineering improvements (RCA)

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.
The role will involve maintaining and repairing a range of electrical, mechanical plant and equipment in retail outlets, undertaking regular planned store visits to complete reactive, PPMs and minor repairs as requested by the customer (including non-electrical).
Key Responsibilities – Area Site Technician
- Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.

**Job Description**
The MPTF Systems Engineering team helps solve exciting problems including using advanced analytical tools to validate safe, efficient and operational performance-led solutions. The MPTF Systems Engineer is involved throughout the design, installation and commissioning of dedicated test-beds.
