Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects , from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget.

What you will be doing as an Engineering Project Manager
  • Manage and deliver a portfolio of Mechanical, Electrical and ICA projects, with a typical value between one hundred thousand and £ million per project.
  • Individually responsible for multiple live projects at any time, with further projects in the scoping and tendering phase.
  • We are developing innovative and modern solutions to operational problems, making our sites more efficient and delivering value for money for our customers.
  • Working with our operations teams and contractors to scope, define and cost solutions that are both cost-effective and have minimal risk.
  • Overseeing our zero-compromise health and safety policy for everyone working on your project. Undertake monthly audits.
  • Oversee the construction of each project in line with our in-house policies & procedures, with associated wider industry standards. Fully compliant with CDM regulations and how to apply them.
  • Working collaboratively with delivery partners and contractors to ensure that schemes are delivered on time.
  • Maintaining compliance with our Asset Standards, associated British & International Standards and professional codes of conduct.
  • Financial forecasting of all live projects and reporting on the value of work done. (VOWD).
  • Drafting, vetting and approving pre-construction information, project programs, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and construction phase plans. (CPP)
  • Overseeing the commissioning, training and handover of completed projects to the operations teams.
  • Ensuring that completion documents are available and handed over, including test certificates, operation and maintenance manuals, health and safety files, and as-constructed drawings.
Location – Your base location will be Mogden STW, Twickenham.

This role will require you to travel to multiple sites depending on the project that you are working on. You will be required to have a full driving licence , access to your vehicle and insurance to cover work travel. You will receive a car allowance , which is paid monthly.

Working Hours – Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

What you should bring to the role
  • Preferably have a background in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
  • Formal qualifications within these sectors are strongly encouraged. Ideally, holding at least a BTEC/HND in a relevant discipline or relevant experience.
  • Or have knowledge of Clean Water Processing and/or Wastewater treatment.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders simultaneously. This includes internal colleagues, site employees and external contractors.
  • Additionally, you will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, be self-motivated and driven, and use your initiative to deliver high-quality work.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety standards, with particular reference to construction works, including CDM. However, additional training will be provided.

The School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences has attracted multi-million pound research funding and collaborates with other universities and Faculties within KCL, the NHS, charitable trusts and foundations, international Universities and industry.

The post holder will work most closely with the directors of the EPSRC funded programme grant and support academic and research staff and their academic collaborators in other institutions, hospitals and industry conducting this funded research and delivering outcomes that have real-world, life-improving impacts.

About The Role

This post will support an EPSRC Programme Grant with 15 co-investigators in a range of disciplines related to development of PET imaging strategies for the development of nanomaterials for therapeutic and diagnostic applications, including clinical translation to benefit patients. The Programme is mainly hosted by the Research Department of Imaging Chemistry and Biology within the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences at King’s College London (KCL), with major additional contributions from colleagues at Queen Mary University of London and University of Leeds, as well as other Departments within KCL.

The role will provide strategically informed project management support, working closely with, within and across teams responsible for research, translation, healthcare and industry both internal and external to KCL.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week) or part time post (50% FTE, 17.5 hours per week) and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 2 years (with the potential to extend for up to 5 years)

Your role

Join Capgemini Engineering as a Project Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge solutions that bridge the physical and digital worlds. You will lead the charge in scoping, bidding, and executing complex engineering projects, working closely with clients and subject matter experts to ensure strategic alignment and technical excellence. This role offers a dynamic hybrid working model, blending time between client sites, company offices, and home, though full remote work is not possible.

As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for managing bids, leading multidisciplinary teams, and driving project success across planning, finances, and quality. Your remit will span client engagement, risk management, continuous improvement, and ensuring high levels of productivity and profitability. Your profile

We are looking for a highly capable Project Manager with a strong engineering background and at least five years’ experience in project, programme, or bid management. The ideal candidate will have led complex, multi-functional teams and delivered transformation projects across the full engineering lifecycle, particularly within Defence or Cyber sectors. A solid grasp of project finances, risk management, and scheduling is essential, along with the ability to collaborate with clients during bids and digital transformation initiatives. Candidates should be degree-qualified (or equivalent), proficient in Microsoft Project, and eligible for SC Clearance. Experience in consultancy environments and knowledge of MOD procurement processes are desirable.

  • Proven leadership in engineering projects across Air, Land, Maritime Defence or Cyber sectors
  • Strong financial acumen including revenue recognition, margin improvement, and risk management
  • Demonstrated client-facing consultancy experience during bids or transformation programmes
  • Preferably experienced in MOD procurement, CAD/PLM projects, and consultancy environments
