We're looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to assist in delivering a wide range of local authority civil engineering schemes for Kier on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council. A driving licence is an essential requirement for this role.

Location : Brixworth Northamptonshire – site based 5 days per week
Hours : Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week Monday to Friday evening and nights
Salary : £40,000 - £45,000 per year + company van + benefits
What will you be responsible for?
As Site Supervisor, you'll be supervising all aspects of onsite maintenance and improvement schemes. The works will include footway reconstruction, carriageway resurfacing, surface treatments, drainage improvements, traffic signals and structures repairs.
Your day to day will include:
- Ensure the Health and Safety of yourself, the workforce and the public in accordance with Kier SHE processes and procedures
- Managing and administering the construction works in accordance with the contract
- Assisting with the implementation and ongoing compliance of the Construction Phase including inductions, and site rules
- Issuing various permits for activities such as hot works and digging for various contractors in accordance with Kier processes and safe digging procedure
What are we looking for?
This role of Site Supervisor is great for you if have:
- Experience in supervising and managing projects in accordance with NEC4 contract
- Experience managing both direct employees and civil engineering contractors
- Understanding and implementation the Construction (Design Management) CDM regulations
- SSSTS (CITB Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Trainings Scheme) and NRSWA Supervisor
- 12D Lantra Traffic Management

The work involved is managing Civils groundworks gangers, and Gangs doing work consisting of: deep drainage, Excavation works, pipelaying, kerbing, tarmac, earthworks and various other groundworks.
Job Duties:
* Ensuring all gangers under their control are correctly carrying out their duties.
* Ensuring all teams under their control have the staff, materials, equipment and required permits they need to do the works.
* Ensuring all permits are closed out and recorded.
* Responding to calls from their team in an appropriate manner.
* Liaise with and carry out tasks as requested by the delivery team and the H&S advisor.
* Carry out safety inspections on site.
* Oversee the work of sub-contractors on site
* Order and manage tools and equipment, hired and internal
* Ensuring all paperwork from sites is completed properly and returned.
* Deliver tool box talks, and H&S briefings as required.
* Check and ensure that site personnel training is up to date and relevant to the tasks and duties.
* Manage the team when work changes arranging new paperwork and tools etc.
* Manage required materials and plant on sites to minimise cost and waste
* Manage expected quality of works.
