Representing WSP's leading Quality Services (QS) business group as a Quality Surveillance Engineer you will provide quality surveillance and management services to safeguard product conformity for our clients.
We are a global ISO 17020 "Type C" Inspection Body with a proud 40-year history of providing quality consultancy, audit, advisory services, and manufacturing assurance to the Energy, Industrial and Transportation sectors.
Our services include oversight of asset maintenance, manufacturing assurance of new and refurbished power plants, nuclear, offshore wind, hydro, thermal power, solar and battery storage equipment, supported by an infrastructure of subject matter experts.
**In this role you will:**
+ Undertake Inspection and Assurance asks of Mechanical and/or Electrical equipment during manufacture
+ Carry out audits of suppliers and processes
+ Assist with the review, mark-up and approval of inspection and test plans, and manufacturing programmes.
+ Ensure assignment activities are executed in compliance with client requirements and relevant contractual specifications and national/international standards
+ Support Project Managers with technical information supporting the inspection and testing activities
**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:**
+ A relevant background in an engineering is desirable (HND, BEng, BSc or equivalent).
+ Chartered or Incorporated Quality Engineer or Engineering professional
+ CQI diploma in Quality Management, or equivalent qualification
+ IRCA registered Lead Auditors would be desirable, however, external training can be provided.
+ Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering and quality assurance / quality systems engineering, with specialist knowledge in the inspection of PSSR, Rotating Plant, Welding/Fabrication, NDT, Power Transformers, Turbo Generators, Switchgear, Cables AC/DC and Motors.
**Other Attributes**
Our Quality Surveillance Engineers must be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to inspection and general problem solving as well as being confident in challenging manufacturers, clients contract partners or client representatives where non-compliance to project specifications may be identified.
Detailed reporting is a large part of a Quality Surveillance Engineers day-to-day activities. It is essential that all candidates are computer literate and are capable of producing coherent and technically fulfilled reports.

**OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION**
The Core Compliance department at MUFG plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity and reputation of the investment bank. It is responsible for ensuring that the firm operates within the framework of applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Within Core Compliance, the EMEA Surveillance Department works closely with sales, trading and business units to identify and manage market abuse risks, executes a comprehensive trade and communication surveillance programme, and promotes a culture of ethical conduct and accountability.
Our Trade Surveillance coverage includes sales and trading activities across multiple asset classes and financial markets within our London Bank and Securities businesses and similar businesses in other EMEA countries. Communications Surveillance covers the UK population and certain EMEA and other overseas operations which affect EMEA business.
**NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTS**

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
The primary purpose of this role is detecting, monitoring, analysing and investigating trading activities of MUFG and its clients to identify possible violations of market abuse regulatory requirements and MUFG trading and compliance policies. In particular, this involves investigating alert referrals submitted by the Level 1 (L1) offshore surveillance team or escalations from the Front Office, ensuring that each case is assessed promptly and thoroughly. You will be responsible for identifying potential indicators of market abuse and escalating cases where appropriate, including those that may lead to the submission of Suspicious Transaction or Order Reports (STORs) to the regulator.
In addition, this role will play an important role in the optimisation of the trade surveillance programme, including delivering testing and calibration exercises of surveillance alerts, identifying and coordinating with our surveillance system vendors to develop new alerts, implementing solutions to increase efficiencies, and supporting and developing the L1 offshore surveillance team.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ In respect of vendor based automated surveillance or EUC alerts, reviewing and investigating all referrals made by the offshore L1 team; documenting and analysing all relevant information to determine if any concerns of suspicious activity merit escalation to the Trade Surveillance Senior Manager and EMEA Head of Surveillance.
+ Working collaboratively with the L1 team, overseeing the quality of alert disposition and providing feedback to support training efforts. In addition, assisting with refresher training modules and any new alert-scenarios that are added to the suite of alerts.
+ Conducting specific sample-based quality assurance testing of the L1 team alert closures to ensure adequacy, completeness and effectiveness.
+ Playing a leading role in the annual calibration and backtesting review process, contributing to the analysis of results and recommendations for parameter changes that could improve the effectiveness of the overall trade surveillance framework.
+ Supporting the delivery of the annual Market Conduct Risk Assessment and being able to effectively engage with the Front Office succinctly over matters of market abuse risk behaviours, to determine appropriate inherent risk ratings.
+ Displaying the ability to draft coherent and effective management action plans in order to remediate issues and gaps in the control framework arising from internal audits.
+ Ensuring that internal policies and procedures are updated accurately and appropriately in accordance with any changes to the surveillance framework.
+ Supporting the training of the L1 team in new products/platforms and market abuse risk typologies, specifically how these will impact alert disposition and the wider surveillance framework.
+ Conducting regular analysis of alert/referral patterns and escalation trends to identify emerging risks, behavioural anomalies, and potential market abuse issues.
+ Assisting with project work involving the automated trade surveillance systems, specifically alert development, UAT design, testing and sign-off. Supporting other members of the Surveillance team with these tasks as necessary.
+ Demonstrating a deep understanding of financial markets, covering major asset classes such as equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, repos, and derivatives-including but not limited to futures, swaps, options and structured products.
+ Having a comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations and international standards, supporting MUFG's adherence to MiFID II, MAR, FX Global Code, Volcker Rule, amongst others.
+ Being responsible for the extraction, review and analysis of transaction data from source systems in relation to manual FX surveillance. This includes identifying opportunities to automate any manual surveillance processes.
+ Maintaining a positive working relationship with external surveillance system vendors and being a key contact for any incident management, development work and other strategic priorities.
+ Build relationships with wider Compliance, the Front Office teams and Technology in respect of escalation of issues including collating of evidence and supporting rationale.
+ Use automated communications surveillance systems to identify relevant communications between transaction participants and staff to enhance the investigation of trade surveillance referrals.
+ Assist in the preparation of management information for periodic Compliance reports to senior management and wider committees.
+ Ensure that the second line Compliance staff act as an independent challenge to the front office, escalating any concerns about breaches of law, regulation or internal policies.
+ Assisting in the planning and deliver of the Surveillance Team's annual objectives, the supervision of the L1 team, and supporting the Trade Surveillance Senior Manager / EMEA Head of Surveillance in the delivery of the department's and wider Compliance Divisions objectives.

This role doesn't require Technical Surveillance experience, but you will be supporting the day to day running of a surveillance team, involving carrying out important assurance activity of surveillance assets, supporting the team with logistics of equipment, maintenance functions, vehicle fleet management and assisting technical officers with preparing for operational deployments. HMRC's Fraud Investigation Service (FIS) is responsible for the department's civil and criminal investigations.

FIS provides HMRC with an effective investigation arm to enforce the Department's compliance policies. Job description

This role is both a support function and a potential career pathway to be an operational member of the team. The role will involve supporting members of a busy team carrying out tasks to assist with the operational activities.

The person in the role will not only ensure equipment used for surveillance is operational, but also being part of the team who design and create the solutions that are deployed in live operational scenarios. The team provide a service to wider Investigation and Intelligence directorates within HMRC, finding solutions for when collecting evidence and intelligence becomes challenging using normal conventional methods.

As HMRC strive to modernise our approach to combatting organised crime, our work in Covert Operations is heavily invested in technology to help us achieve our objectives. As well as some of the more traditional surveillance techniques, this role will involve a heavy reliance of technological solutions. As such the vacancy holder will be expected to be proficient in the use and application of technology, as well as willing to develop and learn new skills.

Person specification

Responsibilities will include:

• Working under the supervision of experienced Technical Surveillance Staff.
• Assemble and repair of covert video/audio equipment, tracking equipment.

Essential Criteria:
  • Excellent Communicator, both orally and written who can understand differing and cross level colleagues and Technology Surveillance stakeholders, whilst able to explain things clearly and concisely in a digestible manner.
  • Utilising your strong gravitas and corporate experience utilising Microsoft Office tools to help with administrative and visual tasks. Demonstrating an interest in Technology and this role. Sharing this knowledge requiring flexibility payments to be made to you for this type of work.
  • Has a "get up and go" attitude can manage their diaries well, challenge stakeholders when needed and can accommodate for last minute or ad hoc tasks. This includes visiting other offices and being comfortable with travel and being physically with customers at times.

Flexibility Payment:

This post attracts Flexibility Payments at Level 1a combined with Level 1b, which are paid monthly with salary.

Level 1b requires you to undertake periods of On Call. You will be expected to work on call 1 week in 4.

+ Collating evidence, documenting and escalating any potentially suspicious activity, misconduct or policy / compliance breaches to the Communications Surveillance Team Manager and the EMEA Head of Surveillance
+ Engaging with the Trade Surveillance Team on any cross-referencing of alerted communications to trading activities, as required
+ Ongoing training and development of the L1 Review Team and supporting them on any ongoing enquiries and issues

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
The Surveillance Strategy & Governance VP is a senior position who will play a fundamental role in executing the EMEA surveillance strategy, as defined by the EMEA Head of Surveillance and Senior Compliance Management.
This includes supporting the strategic direction and ensuring the effectiveness of the EMEA surveillance programme. The individual will work closely with the EMEA Head of Surveillance in setting strategic priorities, managing the surveillance governance framework and ensuring the end-to-end completeness and adequacy of surveillance controls for trade surveillance across all asset classes, and for electronic and audio surveillance across all communication channels and monitored employees.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Support the EMEA Head of Surveillance in delivering the EMEA surveillance strategy and framework components and the wider Compliance Division's objectives.
+ Manage the surveillance governance framework, including escalation and reporting of management information, analysis and key risk metrics to various senior governance committees and forums across first and second line, and to local compliance management across EMEA.
+ Participate in the end-to-end market conduct risk assessment process, ensuring global alignment of the risk assessment methodology and approach, technical interpretation of market abuse risks across the firm's business and trading activities and the ongoing management of the surveillance book of work to ensure risks remain within risk appetite.

+ Foster coordination and engagement with other internal stakeholders, including Business Heads, Front Office Risk & Control, Operational Risk Management, Technology, Compliance Advisory, Financial Crimes Division and Data Governance. This includes addressing substantive matters arising and escalation and presentation of significant issues to senior management of these departments, where necessary.
+ Work with the Compliance Technology and Data Governance teams to align surveillance control development and implementation with strategic goals.
+ Demonstrate and share knowledge of UK and EU market abuse regulatory developments and provide practical and immediate interpretation of regulations in the context of the firm's business activities.
+ Take ownership and lead on managing own career, personal and professional development. Identify opportunities and platforms to enhance Compliance, Regulatory and Financial Industry knowledge and experience to continue to improve product and services knowledge across MUFG which can be reflected in reviews, communications and interactions with stakeholders.
+ Supervise the work of surveillance staff on the team including coaching, supporting and training junior members of the team.
+ Lead horizon scanning activities to identify new and emerging market abuse risks and regulatory developments.
**WORK EXPERIENCE**
Essential:
+ Minimum of 10 years' experience of working in a Surveillance function for investment banks or other financial institutions, or within a consulting or regulatory environment predominantly focused on advisory, design and implementation and independent reviews in relation to market surveillance frameworks.
+ Proven experience in leading surveillance risk and control transformation programmes.
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
**Functional / Technical Competencies:**

+ In-depth knowledge and expertise of the UK / EU Market Abuse Regulation, other relevant global regulations (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd Frank Act) and relevant FCA regulatory requirements and expectations on market abuse surveillance programmes.
+ Strong knowledge and understanding of UK and EU financial markets across major asset classes, trading behaviours and market abuse typologies.
+ Familiarity with surveillance technologies and optimization techniques.
**Education / Qualifications:**
Essential
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred:
+ Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications such as CFA, CAMS, or ICA.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Systems Engineer to join a well-established company providing advanced security and fire solutions known for delivering high-quality installations and exceptional customer service.

As a Security Systems Engineer , you will be installing, maintaining, and servicing security systems while gaining exposure to fire alarm systems.

This full-time permanent role offers a salary range of £35,000 - £45,000 and benefits.

You will be responsible for:

  • Installing, servicing, and maintaining intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems
  • Undertaking small works projects across local sites
  • Working on a variety of residential and commercial properties
  • Supporting integrated systems using the latest technologies
  • Expanding your expertise into fire alarm systems through provided training

What we are looking for

  • Previously worked as a Security Systems Engineer, Security Engineer, Alarm Engineer, Access Control engineer, CCTV Engineer, Intruder Alarm Engineer, CCTV Installation Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience of 3 years with intruder alarm systems, CCTV, and access control
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in fire alarm systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
