The Job
Interpreting involves listening to, understanding and memorizing content in the original ‘source’ language, then reproducing the speech into the ‘target’ language with 100% accuracy.
You will:
- Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services
- Check the non-English speakers understanding after each sentence
- Conference, consecutive and public service interpreting
- Dealing with highly confidential information
- Liaise between the service user and service provider
Requirements
- Fluent in English and another language
- All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
- You must be aged 21 or over
- Formal qualifications such as:
- Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
- Community Interpreting
- NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous
- Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
- Any other interpreting related qualification

Sellick Partnership is currently working with our local authority client to recruit an experienced Litigation Locum . This is an interim role with an initial 3-month duration.
Working on behalf of the local authority and two national park authorities, you will manage a varied caseload of both civil and criminal matters. Experience of planning and highways work is also highly desirable but not essential.
Duties may include:
- Commercial debt recovery
- Judicial review
- Trading standards
- Highways disputes
This is a fully remote working role , however, working as part of a small and cohesive team you will have regular (virtual) meetings with the wider team to ensure you feel supported in the role.
Applicants will be required to be a qualified solicitor, barrister or a chartered legal executive. Previous local government is desirable but not essential.

- Confidence to partner with senior leaders, challenge constructively and diplomatically, and influence decision-making.
- A passion for workforce planning, learning & development, and employee engagement.
- Ability to manage change and transformation in a dynamic environment.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset—someone who doesn't just identify problems but drives meaningful solutions.
