**Core Services and Expectations**
·Review the initial draft question paper(s) and mark scheme(s). Check that the nature and range of responses required by the mark scheme are appropriate.
·Comment on individual questions and responses and the draft question paper(s) as a whole.
·Provide constructive feedback to writer in the required format and suggest alternatives where appropriate.
·Complete a full report concerning each question paper and submit it to the Content Production Manager (CPM) before the Question Paper Evaluation Committee (QPEC) meeting is due to be held. 
·Attend the review meeting/Question Paper Evaluation Committee (QPEC) meeting and therefore contribute to the production of the final draft paper(s) which will be sent to be typeset.

**Our Geotechnics & Tunnelling Teams:**
Our geotechnical teams work in close collaboration with planners, and both structural and civil engineers. They are typically involved in all aspects of a project from early planning studies through to the construction phase, as well as in the inspection and rehabilitation of existing facilities. This approach provides continuity and allows for the inter-disciplinary collaboration that is essential to the successful delivery of complex projects.
You will be embedded in multidisciplinary teams and mentored by experienced Engineers, gaining exposure to real-word challenges and innovative solutions.
Day-to-day activities could include:
+ Taking responsibility for producing accurate ground models using an array of digital tools.
+ Learning about the various foundation and ground improvement techniques that are required for our clients to manage ground risk and realise safe and sustainable construction of their projects.
+ Manipulating and plotting data for site characterisation and witnessing ground investigation in the field, as well as design support.

+ Providing support in all aspects of project delivery including client liaison, contractors and sub consultants, public and statutory body consultation, quality control and management of specialists.
**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ Technical expertise in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology with a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles of either discipline.
+ Consultancy experience with demonstrably good commercial awareness and relationships with clients & contractors
+ Chartered professional qualification and significant post qualification experience
+ Experience in the delivery of geotechnical, engineering geology and other ground engineering projects, including preparing reports to a high technical level.
+ An understanding of client requirements and the ability to influence contract specifications.
+ Experience of being part of or leading delivery teams that are effective in delivering short to medium term projects from inception to construction.
+ Excellent report-writing and client liaison skills.
+ Proven previous experience of undertaking and managing: desk studies; designing, procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIs); checking Ground Investigation Reports & Geotechnical Design Reports in accordance with the requirements of Eurocode 7 : Part 1.
+ Working knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK annex design codes, ground investigation and construction contracts and specifications.
+ Familiarity and an ability to interrogate a wide range of geotechnical software for the design of civil engineering projects including deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis), embedded and gravity retaining walls, earthworks/slope stability and reinforced earthworks.
+ The skills to check and critically evaluate the work done by others, be it drawings, calculations or reports, and have a proven track record of doing so.

**About the Role**
To help support Amentum's worldwide $14B F25 forward looking workload and our portfolio of complex and exciting geotechnical projects within the Defence, Nuclear Power, Environment and Government-Owned Critical Infrastructure industries, we are now looking to grow our Ground Engineering capabilities within the UK and are seeking to recruit Engineering Geologists and Geotechnical Engineers at a range of experience levels including:
+ Engineering Geologist and Geotechnical Engineers
+ Senior Engineering Geologist and Geotechnical Engineers (Chartered or approaching).
We are operating under flexible working arrangements, with a mixture of office-based and home working environments. Bristol office would be the preferred base-office, although other offices, such as Oxford, Reading, London or Glasgow etc can also be considered.
As a Ground Engineering Professional within Amentum, you will play a critical role in managing ground risk by delivering geotechnical assessment, analysis, design and construction supervision to a diverse range of existing and future projects across the UK and internationally. This work will involve:
+ Preliminary Source, Feasibility, value engineering, innovation and sustainability studies.
+ Land and overwater ground investigations including advanced in situ and laboratory testing and data management.
+ Ground characterisation, parametrisation and modelling of soil and rock.
+ Numerical and FE analyses of geotechnical problems, including seismic and dynamic analysis.
+ Geotechnical analysis and design of innovative and sustainable structures, comprising:
+ Routine and complex design within soil and rock, SSI and seismic SSSI
+ Deep and shallow Foundations, Retaining walls, Basements and Cofferdams, Earthworks, reinforced earth and geotextiles, Ground Improvement including vibrational, mixing and grouting methodologies, Ground anchors, soil nails, rock bolts etc
+ Specification for construction purposes.
+ Technical construction assurance

**Here's What You'll Need**
We are interested in seeing your profile if you have experience or exposure to a SELECTION of the following:

+ Technical software such as: OpenGround, Leapfrog, GEO5 Suite; RocScience Suite; WellCad; AutoCad; ArcGIS; MathCAD etc, would be beneficial;
+ Degree (BSc, BEng, Meng, MSc) Engineering Geology / Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic **Senior or Principal Hydrologist** to join our dynamic Sustainable Water Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to high-profile Water Industry Natural Environment Programme ( **WINEP** ) and Water Resources Management Plan ( **WRMP** ) projects across the UK.
WSP is currently embarking on a significant programme of AMP8 WINEP projects for multiple high profile UK water companies. The projects are geographically and environmentally diverse. WSP is also leading the way in delivering challenging Environmental Destination projects across the UK, a topic that will feature heavily as AMP8 progresses. We will also be supporting water companies with developing hydrology for their WRMPs.
**Your team.**
Our Catchment Science team works across a wide spectrum of services covering water resources and water security, hydrology and hydraulics, water quality, hydroecology and hydrogeology. Through our projects we provide high quality technical services and advice to a wide range of high-profile customers in the UK and overseas, including government departments and agencies, the water industry, and a wide range of other industrial sectors, including power, transport, nuclear, mining, commercial and oil and gas.
Over the course of AMP7 Period we saw a significant growth in demand for our skills across the UK Water Company Sector and associated Regulators. This demand is significantly increasing as AMP8 commences, in part due to WSP's position as the go-to consultant for Environmental Destination investigations.
**Some of the things we are looking for.**
+ A track record of contributing to the hydrological and water management elements of WINEP investigations and WRMP inputs in recent AMP cycles.
+ Experience in the development of rainfall runoff models, together with a sound understanding of model calibration techniques.
+ A solid understanding of wider hydrology approaches that are often required for water resources applications in England and Wales.
+ Some familiarity with demand management and water resources modelling approaches.
+ A good understanding of the latest UK water resources management regulations including the Water Resources Planning Guidelines and WINEP guidance such as Preventing Deterioration and Environmental Destination.
+ An understanding of approaches to assessing climate change resilience
+ An attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance, to include the production of high quality client and stakeholder/regulator facing deliverables.
+ Programming experience would be advantageous (e.g. Python and/or R), together with an interest in developing these skills.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to write high quality concise reports
+ Working collaboratively with other sectors/disciplines to deliver the hydrological aspects of a wide range of challenging and engaging projects.
**Qualifications:**
+ A water-focused MSc (e.g. hydrology & water resources, sustainable water management etc.) and BSc in related subject (e.g. physical geography, earth sciences, geology, civil engineering, etc.)
+ You will have gained, or be working towards chartership with a relevant professional body
