Job Purpose:
The Legal Compliance Officer ensures that the organization operates within the law and adheres to regulatory standards. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance programs, conducting audits, and advising on legal risks and obligations. The officer serves as the primary point of contact for legal and compliance matters across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret new and existing laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the business.
- Policy Development: Draft, review, and update company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Training & Education: Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to promote compliance awareness among employees.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess areas of compliance risk; implement corrective action plans to resolve issues.
- Audits & Investigations: Lead internal audits and compliance reviews; investigate potential compliance violations.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory agencies and senior management as required.
- Legal Advice: Provide legal counsel on business activities, contracts, and internal operations as needed.
- Liaison Duties: Act as liaison between the company and regulatory/government bodies.
- Ethics & Integrity: Promote a culture of ethics, transparency, and accountability within the organization.

Personal Attributes:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory role
- Ability to communicate on all levels in a clear and concise manner both verbally and electronically
- Ability to travel outside of the UK as and when required

Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or related field (JD or equivalent preferred)
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA, AML, etc.)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

The jobholder is required to be located at Hanwha Vision Europe Ltd, Heriot House, Heriot Road, Chertsey, Surrey, KT16 9DT – Our normal office hours are 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday, but the jobholder may be required to work outside of these hours as and when required to meet business needs. They are seeking an experienced, driven and motivated Compliance professional to join their already well established team within their office. This dynamic individual will be responsible for monitoring and driving compliance for this global business, ensuring all plans are executed and registers are maintained. This role would suit a candidate with 3-5 years compliance experience working in a corporate environment in a private equity backed business.
This role is pivotal to contributing to the delivery of a global compliance programme, including ethical compliance, data privacy, ESG, financial sanctions and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities of the Compliance Executive will include:
Work with the Global Compliance Manager to deliver the annual Compliance and ESG Plans each year.

Our client, a growing construction contractor who operate nationally, are looking to add an experienced Compliance Manager to one of their long term frameworks in Berkshire.
They provide R&M, planned maintenance, FRA and compliance solutiosn to local authorities and housing associations across the UK. Within this particular role, you would be responsible for the compliance workstreams which will include Fire Safety, M&E, Legionella & Gas.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance policies and procedures across the housing stock.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including Health & Safety at Work Act, Building Safety Act, Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), and all relevant sector-specific regulations.
- Oversee regular audits and inspections, ensuring that all remedial actions are recorded, tracked, and completed in a timely manner.
- Manage contracts and performance of external contractors delivering compliance-related services (e.g. gas servicing, fire risk assessments).
- Maintain accurate compliance records and provide regular reports to senior management, the board, and regulatory bodies.
- Work with asset management, repairs, and housing teams to embed a compliance-focused culture.
- Act as the main point of contact for regulators such as the Regulator of Social Housing and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
