We now have an exciting new opportunity for a Consultant to join our Cyber Response team in London. As the Consultant you will have responsibility for delivering Control Risks' cyber response projects to clients. This involves leading less complex and some complex matters and working alongside our technical partners as well as supporting the management of client relationships. Case Management
- Manage less complex and support the delivery of complex cases as the crisis management consultant alongside other resources.
- Present contracts and letters of intent and obtain client agreement and signature.
- Ensure collective knowledge and advice facility of Control Risks and Control Risks sources/contacts are made available to Response clients.
- Maintain records of each case worked on by Cyber Response.
- Develop and manage working relationships with our panel of technical partners for cyber response projects.
Client Management
- To build and develop client relationships facilitating where appropriate introduction and provision of additional Control Risks services.
- Advise clients on post incident cyber crisis management independently or in conjunction with Control Risks response department.
- Conduct initial assessment of case providing immediate verbal/written advice, recorded in an initial information gathering form.
- Provide clients with on-going advice covering:
- Liaison with key stakeholders, communicators/intermediaries
- Options, contingency plans and recommendations for managing the technical and non-technical elements of response
- Additional technical support e.g. network forensics or additional support to the Digital Forensics department; that may be required alongside any non-technical support e.g. external legal counsel
- Discuss and input into communication strategies and plans.
Reporting
- Provide situation reports and other significant case related material to the client and the Crisis Management Practice Lead.
- Provide documentation to the Crisis Management Practice Lead in sufficient time to allow review and feedback, before submitting to a client.
- Produce case summary and other reports as directed.
General
- Assist in the development of Cyber Response training programmes
- Participate in and develop cyber incident management workshop training when required
- Focus on developing business and promoting Control Risks Services
- Coaching less experience consultants on cases.
- Being the named duty officer on-call
Supporting the growth of the Cyber Response practice
- Refining Control Risks’ cyber response methodologies and approaches and tailoring the approach in changing market conditions

Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in responding to cyber attacks
- Proven experience in information security related advisory
- Demonstrable experience of operating within a commercial environment
- Track record of developing consultative relationships with clients
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Preferred
- Proven experience leading crisis response cases

Role Summary

- Maintain knowledge of any developments in business continuity and emergency planning standards. Devise strategies and practices to ensure compliance and present these for approval to the Group.
- To attend and contribute to the Group Health and Safety Committee, writing and presenting reports on business continuity and incident management as required.
- As required, attend campus Health & Safety Forums to update on business continuity and incident management planning.
Qualifications and attainments
- Degree or professional qualification in business administration, risk management planning, or related area.
- Minimum of 2 -3 years of experience in business continuity and incident management or related role.
Experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of business continuity and incident management recovery principles
- Understanding of risk assessment and business impact analysis and methodologies
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g. Civil Contingencies Act, Prevent Duty)

**About the role:**
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive Security Resilience & Business Continuity Manager to lead our efforts in maintaining regulatory compliance, managing security risks, and ensuring operational resilience. This role is critical in safeguarding our business operations and supporting our ability to respond effectively to disruptions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Security Compliance**
+ Develop, implement, and maintain compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
+ Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
+ Monitor regulatory changes and advise on necessary updates to policies and procedures.
**Business Continuity & Resilience**
+ Lead the development and maintenance of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) plans.
+ Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and risk assessments to identify critical functions.
+ Coordinate and lead continuity exercises and simulations across departments.
+ Act as the incident response lead during disruptions, ensuring timely recovery and communication.
**Risk Management**
+ Maintain a comprehensive risk register and oversee mitigation strategies.
+ Provide regular risk and compliance reporting to senior leadership.
+ Support third-party risk assessments and vendor due diligence processes.
**Policy & Governance**
+ Develop and maintain security and continuity policies, standards, and procedures.
+ Promote a culture of compliance and resilience through training and awareness programs.
**Stakeholder Engagement**
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors, regulators, and external assessors.
+ Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership and operational teams.
+ Deputise as and where required for the Senior Security Manager.
**Essential Skills & Qualifications**
+ Proven experience in Security Management, Business Continuity, Risk Management, or other resilience disciplines.
+ Relevant years' experience of people management or leadership and in business continuity planning, compliance, or risk management.
+ Prior experience in Business Continuity / HILP (High Impact, Low Probability) / ALARP (As Low as Reasonably Practical) risk management functions in large infrastructure/equivalent projects desired.
+ An understanding of Incident Management practices as well proficient in compliance management software and tools.
+ Ability to present complex technical and non-technical security information, concepts and intelligence to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders as well as deliver presentations and training.
**Desirable**
+ Previous experience of obtaining and maintaining ISO 22301 accreditation
+ Diploma in Security Management (NVQ Level 5) or higher.
+ Experience or background in MoD/Military security/Intelligence
+ Counter Sabotage & Operational Resilience (CSOR).
+ An educational background such as - A degree in business administration, risk management, law, or a related field.
