Role Overview:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with clients and other professionals in line with agreed standards, clinical polices and without direct supervision. In addition to this, you will be expected to be closely involved in discharge planning and immediate follow up from the service user care.
Our Occupational Therapists are expected to manage clients using evidence based and client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions which provide clients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living. We are looking for a candidate who is experienced and is able to work on its own.
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- Holds a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy together with a full BVAOT membership and HPC registration.
- Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
- Experience supporting clients with eating disorders.
- Developed communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with both adults (16+), and children/adolescents (CAMHS).
- Ideally a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.
- Previous post registration experience of working with clients who have had an eating disorder or other mental health condition.
- Experience of group interventions.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Demonstrates the ability to critically evaluate current research and apply to practice.
- Review and reflect on own practice and performance through effective use of professional and operational supervision and appraisal.
