Responsibilities of the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator to join their operations team in **Aberdeen, Scotland, UK**. This role is integral to managing and optimizing the flow of goods from origin to destination, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, managing inventory, liaising with carriers and suppliers, and resolving logistical challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a good understanding of supply chain principles, and excellent communication abilities. Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely delivery
  • Track and trace shipments, providing updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth transit
  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate warehouse operations
  • Process shipping documents, invoices, and customs declarations
  • Identify and resolve logistical issues and delays promptly
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation providers
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistical activities
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and production teams to forecast needs and manage supply
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs
  • Analyze logistics data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Assist in the development and implementation of logistics strategies
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a similar role
  • Solid understanding of supply chain operations, transportation modes, and customs procedures
  • Proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with import/export regulations is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in the (Industry relevant to the fictional company) sector is an advantage
