Job title: Shift Engineer
Location: Mitcham
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off - days and nights
So what's it all about?
As our next Shift Engineer, you will be resilient and adaptable due to the nature of the fast-paced environment you will be working within. Using your own initiative will be key a lot of the time.
Working with a team of skilled Engineers, you will be responsible for not only repairing issues with the bakery production lines but encouraged to implement positive ideas in the reliability of the machines moving forward.
You will be instrumental in the diagnosing of both electrical and mechanical faults within the factory. Your remit will be to carry out essential machine maintenance to ensure the smooth running of the production line and limit downtime.
You will be passionate about the role Engineers play in making improvements and how you can proactively influence situations instead of just being reactive. In this role, you will ensure faults are found quickly and repaired efficiently.
The Key Requirements.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment (FMCG)

  • Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic

  • You will collaborate with stakeholders to implement improvements

  • Supporting the process change process
  • Supporting the design change process
  • Supporting and development of QMS control measures and adherence
  • Providing advice and guidance on Routing set up, TA/TP improvement actions, Process and equipment documentation, Document control and adherence and CAPEX
  • Management of process master data
  • Management of FMEA for all products  
THE PERSON  
  • You will have a Level 3 qualification in engineering discipline, or equivalent time spent in similar role within automotive or manufacturing industry
  • You will be able to demonstrate good knowledge of process engineering
  • You will be able to demonstrate good knowledge of project management
  • You will be an effective communicator across all levels of the business
  • You can manage resources effectively – i.e. in-direct resource, time management
  • You will have an analytical and/or methodical approach to delivering workload
  • You can demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities
  • You have a professional approach for line and project management interactions
  • You are approachable by all levels of the business
  • You have a structured and standardized approach to workload and project management
