You will be responsible for analyzing current manufacturing processes, identifying waste, and developing strategies to streamline workflows, reduce lead times, and improve product quality. Key responsibilities:
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement using lean methodologies.
- Develop and implement strategies to eliminate waste (muda) in production, including overproduction, waiting, transportation, inventory, motion, over-processing, and defects.
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and improvement projects.
- Implement and sustain 5S programs to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workplace.
- Develop and maintain Value Stream Maps (VSMs) for key product families.
- Train and mentor production staff on lean principles and tools.
- Measure and report on the impact of lean initiatives on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, cycle time, and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to integrate lean principles into new product introductions and process design.
- Standardize work procedures and best practices across the manufacturing floor.
- Support the development of a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrable experience in implementing lean manufacturing techniques and achieving measurable results is essential. We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Lead Process Engineer or Process Engineer based at Peterborough with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Head of Engineering and you will provide engineering technical direction to the discipline engineers in your area in either water or water recycling non-infrastructure projects. You will provide design support for numerous non-infrastructure schemes and ensure all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.

- Particular specifications for engineering subcontracts.
- Working closely with the supply chain and performing technical bid analysis of their designs.
