**The Team:**
The Quality Engineering team works in partnership with other Technology Functions and the Business to ensure quality delivery of our products. The team works in an Agile environment and is located globally. The team is independent in driving all decisions and is responsible for continuously improving customer experience, revenue growth and operations enablement through quick turn-around of development of our products with high quality.
**Responsibilities and Impact:**
+ Develop automation scripts that adhere to organizational standards, creating reliable, reusable, and maintainable automated regression suites and test harnesses.
+ Utilize various tools and frameworks to create automation scripts with high-quality code to simplify testing scenarios.
+ Design and develop test plans and test cases based on functional and design specifications, execute test cases, and analyze and report test results to the teams.
+ Focus on building efficient solutions for web applications, services/APIs, databases, and mobile testing requirements.
+ Actively participate in functional, system, and regression testing activities.
+ Contribute to the identification, creation, execution, and automation of test scenarios with a quality-first mindset.
+ Serve as the advocate for quality within and outside of scrum teams, ensuring quality is maintained throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) from requirement gathering to production release.
+ Support and implement quality assurance metrics architecture within scrum teams.
+ Contribute to the execution of frequent prioritization, changes, and quality releases.

**What We're Looking For:**
+ A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
+ Over 5 years of experience in software testing or development, with a solid understanding of testing, coding, and debugging procedures.
+ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or other relevant languages.
+ Experience in designing and developing automated tests, with knowledge of testing across various application layers, including user interface, service, data layers, and mobile applications.
+ Ability to advise the team on identifying automatable test cases across different layers, with a collaborative approach to working with developers to create automation and performance-friendly code.
+ Experience in refactoring test automation and performance suites as necessary.
+ Familiarity with web services and a solid understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA).
+ Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with experience in writing SQL queries.
+ Exposure to Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices and experience with Agile methodologies is highly desirable.
+ Familiarity with continuous integration, DevOps practices, and rolling deployment or upgrade models is highly desirable.
+ Experience in developing test plans and test cases, conducting exploratory testing, and creating and maintaining defect reports.
+ Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

**Required technical and professional expertise**

Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the AI/ML Data Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the Test Engineering Program. This strategic initiative focuses on building robust, intelligent validation frameworks and infrastructure that power our ML and data products. You will architect and develop tools, services, and automation that elevate platform assurance across large-scale distributed systems, collaborating with engineering, MLOps, and infrastructure teams to embed quality engineering deeply into platform components.

Job responsibilitiesn• Design and build high-performance tools and services to validate the reliability, performance, and correctness of ML data pipelines and AI infrastructure.n• Develop platform-level test solutions and automation frameworks using Python, Terraform, and modern cloud-native practices.n• Contribute to the platform's CI/CD pipeline by integrating automated testing, resilience checks, and observability hooks at every stage.n• Lead initiatives that drive testability, platform resilience, and validation as code across all layers of the ML platform stack.n• Collaborate with engineering, MLOps, and infrastructure teams to embed quality engineering deeply into platform components.n• Build reusable components that support scalability, modularity, and self-service quality tooling.n• Mentor junior engineers and influence technical standards across the Test Engineering Program.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skillsn• Formal training or certification on Computer Science concepts and proficient advanced experience.n• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, including large-scale backend systems or platform engineering.n• Expert in Python with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming, testing frameworks, and automation libraries.n• Experience building or validating platform infrastructure, with hands-on knowledge of CI/CD systems, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.n• Solid experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS, Step Functions, CloudWatch).n• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to manage and provision cloud infrastructure.n• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices: code quality, reliability, performance optimization, and observability.

Senior Automation Engineer (Selenium/Java) - SC Clearable
Location: Flexible - home or UK offices (Bristol, Cheltenham or London). Weekly visits to London are required.

We are partnering with a leading global consultancy delivering bespoke technical solutions for complex operational challenges. They are looking for experienced Test Engineers to join a fast-paced Central Government project.

What you will do:

• Implement continuous automated testing across CI/CD pipelines
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks for UI and API
• Perform manual and automated testing
• Collaborate with Agile teams using TDD, BDD and ATDD principles
• Conduct non-functional testing including Security, Performance, Accessibility and Operational Acceptance Testing

About you:

• Experienced in Selenium and Java with strong manual and automated testing skills
• Comfortable working independently within Agile teams
• Must be a British passport holder and have lived in the UK for the last five years
