As a QAE on the Fire TV QA team, you will champion the quality of our features in our development pipeline using both automated and manual tests, reporting and verifying defects, and signing-off on features and release candidates. You will own authoring and the execution of test plans and test cases. You will be the primary interface with our external certification partners to guarantee quality of our products. You will have a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software, our business, and most importantly our customers. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA in order to ensure the features we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the teamu2019s speed, quality and efficiency.

The candidate will have good hands-on experience in test automation and testing, with good knowledge of the core software testing techniques and drive quality upstream.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in automation testing

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a key role within Unifi's EHSS Programmes & Strategy team, supporting continuous improvement and compliance across safety and operational procedures. This position focuses on evaluating risks, conducting field assessments, and ensuring alignment with both internal policies and external regulatory standards. The successful candidate will help enhance Unifi's Safety Management System (SMS) and support station-level engagement through structured audits and corrective action planning. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operations, compliance, and safety teams to implement tools, procedures, and processes supporting a robust company-wide Safety Management System.
  • Lead and manage Unifi's internal safety audit programme to ensure operational compliance with both company and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current procedures and audit findings in reducing safety incidents; recommend and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Conduct field audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and root causes, propose and track corrective actions.
  • Perform regular site visits to Unifi and customer stations to assess safety practices, coach staff, and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Collect feedback from local and regional leadership to improve the design and effectiveness of safety programmes.
  • Develop and communicate impactful, scalable corrective actions to support compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Aviation Safety, or a related discipline; or 3-6 years of relevant experience in EHSS programme management or operational safety leadership.
  • Ability to independently conduct field audits and summarise findings for leadership review and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent technical and business writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Sway), with advanced Excel skills for data management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in airline/aviation operations, especially involving safety or quality assurance programmes.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire.
  • Familiarity with digital safety management systems (e.g., Gensuite or similar platforms).   

Work environment:

  • Office Environment: Standard office conditions with regular multitasking and deadline-driven responsibilities.

What you'll be doing
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off night blue shift
As QA Supervisor on the night shift you will lead a quality assurance QA team to verify that all materials including finished products are safe and conform to all relevant specification, legislation and customer requirements.

  • Working closely with the Nights Production Manager to ensure the production of safe, legal food.
  • Complete audits and key performance indicators and monitor the consistency of outputs across the team for compliance purposes
  • Train the team to ensure that new process and procedures are adopted
  • Building production team capability to improve communication and understanding of technical standards
  • Investigating customer complaints or any non-conformance raised internal or externally to provide data which informs resolution
  • Organise organoleptic panel to ensure consistent quality
  • Ensure that a safe working environment exists for all colleagues and that as a minimum the department meets the standards set out in the Health Safety and Environment policy
  • Managing the nights QA team, ensuring tasks are completed in line with schedules and trackers.
  • Monitoring of micro results and initiating any investigations as required.
  • Working closely with the hygiene team to ensure swabbing and hygiene audits are completed in line with schedules
What we're looking for
  • Flexibility required to support hygiene audits
  • Ideally educated to Higher National Diploma level and/or experience within a similar role in food manufacturing
  • Experience of managing a team and leading people
  • Holds a Level 2/3 food safety certification
  • Basic knowledge of weight legislation and allergen awareness/ practical management of allergens
  • Experienced working with computer systems
  • Understanding of internal audit process and technical key performance indicators
  • Has CCP training including Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) principles for Manufacturing Unit
  • Experience and knowledge of good manufacturing practice (GMP)
  • Demonstratable non-conformance reporting techniques
  • Microbiological awareness - understanding of basic of food safety
  • Basic knowledge of hygiene principles and legal labeling practice
