Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures specific to mining operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of mine sites, equipment, and work practices.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and mining regulations.
- Deliver safety training to all mine personnel, including induction programs and ongoing refreshers.

- Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning.
- Recognised qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within the mining industry is essential.
- Thorough understanding of underground and/or surface mining operations and associated hazards.
- Knowledge of relevant UK mining health and safety legislation.
- Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff.
- Proficiency in creating and delivering training programs.
- First Aid certification is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively on a mine site and manage multiple safety priorities.
