About the Role
As the Seller Onboarding Manager, you will be the owner of the onboarding experience for all new sellers joining OnBuy. This is not just a support role it’s a business-critical function that connects seller experience to commercial outcomes. You will work cross-functionally to identify friction, drive improvements, and deliver scalable solutions that accelerate seller success and platform growth. Success means demonstrating the ability to connect operational execution with strategic impact, an essential trait for OnBuy.
The ideal candidate will be a cross-functional collaborator, passionate about enabling sellers to thrive on our platform.
Key responsibilities
- Seller Advocacy & Strategic Ownership
- Act as the internal advocate for new sellers, surfacing feedback and pain points to improve the onboarding experience.
- Support the Head of Sales in managing the onboarding funnel from activation through to retention.
- Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to influence roadmap priorities and resolve systemic onboarding blockers.
- Recommend tooling, automation, and product enhancements that improve onboarding efficiency and seller satisfaction.
Onboarding Process Management
Ensure timely completion of all critical onboarding steps, including:
- Account verification
- Integration method selection (Manual, ERP/API, CSV)
- International listing setup
- Shipping rate validation
- Product data quality checks
- Price competitiveness
- Boost and package education
- Brand registration
- Document onboarding progress in Salesforce and create educational content to proactively prevent common seller errors.
Integration & Product Activation
- Incentivise sellers to list best-selling SKUs immediately post-activation.
- Provide tailored support for ERP/API and CSV integrations, including documentation and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with B2C Marketing to ensure SKU activation within the first month of onboarding.
Retention & Seller Satisfaction
- Design onboarding engagements that promote long-term seller retention.
- Partner with Sales, Support, and Product teams to proactively address early churn signals.
- Maintain a 90% satisfaction rate among strategic sellers through personalised support and feedback-driven improvements.
- Implement and manage onboarding satisfaction surveys in collaboration with B2B Marketing.
Scalable Onboarding & Automation
- Balance high-touch onboarding for strategic sellers with scalable processes for the broader seller base.
- Leverage automation and AI tools to reduce manual effort while preserving personalisation.
- Continuously refine onboarding workflows based on performance data, seller feedback, and internal insights.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor onboarding KPIs and integration milestones to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify trends in delays or drop-offs and implement root-cause solutions.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on seller progress, onboarding performance, and program effectiveness.
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Background in sales, customer success, or account management—ideally within e-commerce or marketplaces.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, or Marketing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build relationships quickly.
- Comfortable using AI and automation tools to improve efficiency.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems using data and feedback.
- Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills.
- Clear and confident communicator—both in person and when creating guides or content.
- Proactive, results-driven, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Linnworks, Rithum) and seller integrations.
- Understanding of e-commerce platforms and seller challenges is a plus.
- Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce or a willingness to learn.
- Able to switch between strategic thinking and hands-on execution with ease.

Driving Growth
- Lead seller strategies to align with business goals and drive GMV growth.
- Collaborate across Product, Marketing, Sales, and Support to deliver a seamless end-to-end seller journey.
- Oversee (in partnership with Seller Onboarding) the incubation process for new sellers, ensuring readiness for trading and strong customer experience.
- Streamline onboarding to reduce friction and accelerate time-to-value.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of newly onboarded sellers, guiding them through the incubation lifecycle.
Activation & Trading
- Develop and execute activation strategies and trading moments to boost seller engagement and sales.
- Promote adoption of platform tools (e.g., Boost) to enhance visibility and performance.
- Use internal scoring systems to identify high-potential sellers and implement targeted growth plans.
- Collaborate with Marketing to activate deals and promotions with key sellers.
Performance Monitoring & Enablement
- Design and implement performance metrics and dashboards (e.g., NPS, real-time seller KPIs).
- Monitor customer satisfaction and partner with underperforming sellers to improve responsiveness, shipping, and refund rates.
- Optimise the Seller Control Panel (SCP) for intuitive UX and embedded education.
- Product Collaboration & Feedback Loops
- Partner with the Seller Success Product team to co-design features that improve seller outcomes.
Surface seller feedback and operational issues to inform continuous platform improvements.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in key account management, seller success, or e-commerce operations within a B2C marketplace.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills.
