Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Senior Operations Director to oversee and transform their logistics and warehousing operations. This is a critical, fully remote position, offering exceptional flexibility to manage operations from any location within the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of their entire supply chain network. This role demands a visionary leader with a deep understanding of modern logistics, warehousing technologies, and a proven ability to manage large, geographically dispersed teams and facilities. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing service levels, reducing costs, and future-proofing the company's supply chain capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term strategy for all logistics and warehousing functions, aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to regional operations managers and their teams across the UK.
  • Drive significant improvements in operational efficiency, productivity, and cost management within all warehousing and distribution activities.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in operations and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior director-level role overseeing large-scale logistics and warehousing operations.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that have significantly improved operational performance and reduced costs.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), automation technologies, and other relevant supply chain software.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate large, dispersed teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
