What You Need

  • Previous Dual Fuel experience within the past 12 months

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineer to take a senior role in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Role:

  • Producing and reviewing engineering drawings to support design, manufacture, assembly, and test activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards
  • Leading design planning, problem-solving, and technical reviews ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with engineering best practices
  • Overseeing design and build programmes, managing resources effectively and driving innovation throughout the development process
  • Supporting workshop teams to provide technical guidance during the manufacture, assembly, and testing stages
  • Prepare engineering estimates, calculations, and documentation, while managing design packages and verifying purchased goods meet specifications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and client representatives throughout project planning and execution

Skills and Experience:

  • HNC or Degree qualified in relevant field (mechanical, product, electro-mechanical engineering/design)

  • Must be able to clearly articulate technical principles and tool functionality and application

  • Provide customers with advice, tool training (both servicing and operational) and guidance on how to run the tools
  • Lead pre-commercial and early in-field customer deployments of new products

  • Must be able to listen to customer problems, extract key constraints and develop solutions from existing products, or if none exist to suggest new products to engineering
  • Must have a clear customer focus and be able to understand the variety of stakeholders and cultures in different areas of the business and respond to them accordingly
  • Experience of international travel and different business cultures would be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Due to the prominent nature of the position, this is expected to be a highly visible role with significant on-campus requirements. You will be a central figure in the University's leadership, engaging regularly with staff, students, and external stakeholders.

Your proven ability to support agility while upholding strong governance will be crucial in managing the University’s evolving challenges.
