We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician to join our client, who are a leading specialist in their industry and have customers all around the world. Your role will include skilled execution of planned & corrective electrical maintenance activities, ensuring reliable condition and robust performance of numerous and varied items of plant and equipment.
Fault finding and root cause failure identification, a proactive approach to defect correction and reporting with a sound ability for swift breakdown resolution in emergency process situations. Coordination with existing maintenance, operations and process departments as well as adopting safe working techniques and good overall engineering practice.
Your main duties will include:
* Implementation of scheduled planned maintenance by realising work orders generated by the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
* Reacting to failure/breakdown of equipment and carrying out corrective/remedial measures as necessary or directed.
* Possess & demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, especially PLC, Electrical panels and components, MCCs, Scada, General electrical duties etc.
* Perform strip down, repair, overhaul & test of various electrical plant.
* Install & repair various types of industrial equipment and component.
* Be able to solve problems by properly investigating symptoms and tracing back to identify root cause.
* Suggestion of solutions for continuous improvement of plant safety, reliability and overall efficiency.
Our client is looking for you to have the following:
*Certification of IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 to 17th/18th edition standard is necessary. t
* Electrical engineering apprenticeship at trade level essential.
* Working experience in a similar role or position.
* Working knowledge of automated/PLC controlled equipment, MCC and Scada.
* Ability to read & understand electrical, mechanical and process schematics / specifications - including P&ID
* Good understanding of mechanical systems and constraint beneficial
* Experience & knowledge of heavy Industry is preferred.
* Current CSCS card or similar preferred and current PASMA and MEWP licence beneficial.
* Current forklift license beneficial.
* Current certificate for competency in confined spaces & escape BA beneficial.
* Strong understanding and appreciation of the need for safe systems of work, including risk assessment & method statements, isolation procedures and permit to work systems.
* Ability to use hand held computerised equipment.
* Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the business.
* Current drivers licence.

The Role
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking for an experienced Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join a growing Engineering team based in Selby, North Yorkshire. You will provide electrical and instrumentation; repair and maintenance service, and will operate the Electrical Generation Plant, Peaking Generators, Steam Raising Plant and Water Treatment Plant in an efficient, safe manner monitoring plant conditions and keeping operating costs to a minimum.
What you will be doing
- Run the day to day operations of Boilers, Gas Turbines (CHP plants) and Reverse Osmosis skids
- Monitoring boiler and water treatment plant and adjusting settings as conditions require.
- Monitoring running conditions of the burning of process gas and adjusting fuel combinations to suit steam requirements and process gas availability. Planning by liaison with Production regarding the steam availability and requirement and under certain conditions the level of electricity which is available for site usage.
- Liaison with Engineering and Production departments regarding breakdowns and routine maintenance.
- Effectively carry out planned, predictive and reactive electrical maintenance of the plant, ensuring that all equipment is maintained correctively and in a timely manner in order for production to operate efficiently
- Fault finding, Testing, Calibration, Installation & Commissioning of our broad range of process instrumentation
- Isolation of all electrical plant to comply with permit to work procedure.
- Carry out fault diagnosis and rectification solutions.
- Electrical installation and commissioning of new and repaired machinery and equipment;
- Carry out all work safely, in accordance with site safety procedures and trade related working practices.
- HV switching and operations (training provided)
What skills and experience do you need
- A recognised electrical/C&I engineering apprenticeship ideally gained in a heavy process industry
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an electrical/automation discipline is desirable or the ability to demonstrate suitable experience in a similar role
- Able to prove competency in all forms of isolation, electrical safety and safe panel entry
- Good understanding of electrical installation/schematics and requirements
- Electrical and instrumentation diagnosing/fault finding
- Carrying out electrical and instrumentation repairs/replacement
- Experience in an instrumentation maintenance
- HV switching and operations experience or willingness to learn it (training provided)
- Experience in running operation on CHP plants or willingness to learn it (training provided)
- Be able to work unsupervised when tasked to do so, and to organise the work of others, where relevant, in response to the site needs.
- You will have a "hands on" approach, and the ability to see a job through to completion
- Ability to prioritise own workload

- IOSH / SMSTS
- CSCS
Preferable but not essential:
- ONC/HNC/ NVQ L3/L4 Building Services.
- Project Management or Engineering Degree
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Electrical building services engineering.
- Strong understanding of codes, standards, and regulations. HTM knowledge would be beneficial.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex engineering projects.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team working in the Energy, Power and Renewable Sector. This position will be based on a project within the UK.

What you will be doing?
- Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams
- Complying with specific project safety requirements
- Detailed design covering all aspects of High & Low voltage equipment and control and protection systems.
- Specification, selection, and procurement of the range of equipment
- Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation • Assist with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue.
- Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports.
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
