Job Description
How You'll Help Us Live Our Purpose
We've been helping our members save for their future and buy their own home since 1875. Join us and you'll play a big role in helping us to put home ownership within reach of more people, generation after generation.
It's a purpose that drives everything we do. And you can play your part too – we have an opportunity to join our accomplished Digital Channels team as a Creative UX Design Manager on a 12 month fixed term basis.
How You'll Make a Difference
You will lead the UX and Creative team to offer both strategic direction and high-quality execution of the UX team's accountabilities to ensure that the UX team is performing effectively, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality user-centric solutions. You'll create an open and inclusive culture, with highly engaged colleagues, delivering required performance management, development and communication actions.
This is an exciting time to join us on our Digital Experience transformation journey in a fundamental role to lead on design.
What will you bring to the role?
- Previous experience of managing a UX Design team.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to role model, care, connect and coach to drive performance, change, positive engagement and deliver against challenging objectives.
- Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- In-depth knowledge of user research methods and usability testing.
- Strong understanding of interaction design, visual design, and information architecture.
- Experience of storytelling, critiquing, facilitating, running workshops and presenting up to Director/Board level when required.
- Experience of working with Agile methodologies and teams, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast environment working with various squads and departments.
- High level of understanding of accessibility requirements when designing, critiquing and reviewing projects.
And in return, you'll get the best from us:
- Matched pension contributions up to 10%
- 26 days holiday (pro rata), plus bank holidays and holiday purchase scheme
- Electric vehicle / Cycle to Work scheme
- 2 days' volunteering per year
We'll give you a place to belong with the support to learn, develop and shape a meaningful career.
Why choose us?
Our business is centred around our people. Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do, as shown by our Inclusive Employers Gold accreditation in 2023. We're committed to equal opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability or gender identity.
You'll be joining a truly purpose-focused culture which helped us win the Leading with Purpose award at the 2023 Business Culture Awards. This recognises how we've embedded our purpose with our colleagues, and the actions we've taken to put home ownership within reach of more people, generation after generation.
