As Train Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards of trains, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for passengers and staff. This role plays a crucial part in the overall maintenance and appearance of trains, contributing to a positive customer experience.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain a tidy environment inside the train
- Inspect and report any damages, graffiti, or vandalism to the appropriate authorities for prompt resolution.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed, ensuring that all necessary materials are on hand to perform daily tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
- Follow procedures for handling and disposing of cleaning chemicals and materials.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have Right to Work in the UK.
- Previous experience in cleaning would be advantageous.
- You will have strong communication skills.
- Willingness to work night and weekend shifts.
Additional information:
- You will need to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test prior to starting in this role.
- You will also be required to complete a Depot Track Safety (DTS) training course.
- Free travel to and from work will be provided on SWR trains.

Recruitment experts Optime are excited to be recruiting Warehouse Operatives in partnership with Avanti Trains. This job offers fantastic hours and overtime opportunities. As a Warehouse Operative you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our catering and goods arrive with our train clients on time, in-line with various scheduling requirements.
What’s on offer:
- Rate of Pay: £13.62 per hour
- Location: Manchester Piccadilly Train Station,
- Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days per week
- Hours: 22:00 pm to 05:30 am
- Immediate Start!
- Weekly pay
- Temp to Perm (performance-based)
Key Duties:
- Organising incoming goods.
- Unpack the products from the primary packaging and place onto hanging rails.
- Repack the items and ensure that the packaging meets client specifications.
- Using handheld scanners to find and place goods appropriately.
- Picking and Packing items.
- Ensuring all contents of the bars are packed to train standards.
- Restocking bars that return from trains.
- Searching and sealing of goods.
- Receiving goods into the warehouse.
- Stock distribution.
- Accuracy of records for all products.
- Maintaining the organisation of the warehouse.
Requirements:
- Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Ability to demonstrate our core values.
- Basic numeracy skills .
- Basic Checking skills.
- Valid Passport or Driving Licence /Birth Certificate or National ID card
- UK Settled Status (If applicable)
- Proof of National Insurance
- Proof of (current) Address
