The Candidate

- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to interior panel and paint repairs, replacing seat covers, train glazing, window films, seat bases, armrests, panel, tabletops and toilet fixtures and fittings.

Ganymede Solutions are working with the largest UK Train Operating Company (currently posting revenues of over £.9Billion the last seven years), who are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaner to join the Train Presentation team based in their Littlehampton depot.
The company covers the Southeast, Greater London & East Anglia areas – this includes Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, London & Hertfordshire. As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 516 to be precise, so it's safe to say you will be active & busy within your role!
Ganymede are looking to hire someone with a ‘go getter’ attitude who isn’t afraid to get stuck in and can lead a team by example.
The Role:
The role itself will consist of all aspects of train cleaner duties. This can include exterior cleaning, interior cleaning, hoovering the floors, inspecting/maintaining toilets, etc.
Hours wise, it is a 35-hour week role across a Sunday – Saturday roster, working hours of 21:30pm – 04:30am
You will be looking after the Southern train fleet which serves the Surrey & Sussex areas. Your role is mainly interior cleaning focused, but here and there you will have to do some basic exterior work also. There is one cleaner per 3 or 4 carriages, meaning you will be working in a team of 4 at most times.
Remuneration & Benefits:
This rail company has on offer the following for contract staff:
- £15.19p/h rate this will rise to 6.27p/h after your first 12 weeks due to AWR (Agency Worker Rights)
- Overtime is available at the Manager’s discretion, the rates are:
- Anything worked after hour 36 - £18.2 /h
- Rest Days worked - £19 4p/h
- Sundays worked - £22 2p/h
- Bank holidays worked - £30 7p/h

- Sanitizing touch points
- Hoovering
- Mopping
- Dusting
- Cleaning & restocking the toilets
You will be working on a Monday – Friday basis, with working hours being 09:00 – 16:00.
What do we need?
- Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
- Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc…
- Be able to attend and pass 1 week of training, commencing on 15/09/2025
- Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
- Happy to help mentality/attitude.
