I am seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with an engineering background to join our team as a Site Engineer in the water and highways sectors in particular, primarily focusing on infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for candidates with 5-10 years of experience in engineering or construction, looking to advance their careers in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate setting out and surveying on construction sites, ensuring all works align with the latest construction drawings.
- Ensure all construction activities meet the required quality standards in accordance with relevant specifications and drawings.
- Uphold and enforce strict safety, health, and environmental standards, ensuring that all site operations are conducted without harm.
- Deliver comprehensive site inductions to new personnel and conduct daily briefings to keep the site team informed and aligned.
- Manage daily site operations, including overseeing site operatives and subcontractors, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
- Ensure all site-related documents, including attendance sheets, progress photographs, and as-built information, are accurately completed and submitted to the head office.
- Conduct thorough checks on all deliveries and maintain detailed records of site progress, including pre-start, ongoing, and completion photographs.
- Assist with any additional tasks as required to support the successful completion of projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of construction methods, techniques, and specifications relevant to infrastructure projects.
- Competent in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for project documentation and communication.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with the site team and other stakeholders.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive working relationships on-site.
- Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
- CSCS Site Supervisor's Card
- NVQ Level 3 Construction Supervisor
- Temporary Works Supervisor
- New Roads and Street Works Act (NRASWA) Supervisor
- First Aid Certificate

The Site Engineer is responsible on site for other junior engineers and assists in the construction operations.
You will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.
You will be responsible for work with the other team members of the setting-out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the junior engineers and also for identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent.
