Talent Acquisition Specialist responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for legal and business roles
- Build strong relationships with hiring managers and agencies
- Source candidates, conduct interviews and ensure a great candidate experience
- Track recruitment progress and provide market insights
The ideal candidate will have:
- MUSH HAVE 5+ years in recruitment, preferably agency or in-house
- Successful track record recruiting roles from junior to senior level
- Proven experience in direct sourcing and managing full recruitment lifecycle
- Experience using ATS tools and recruitment software

You will collaborate closely with our hiring managers, Finance team and HR partners to understand our talent needs, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure a seamless recruitment process with outstanding candidate experience.

Location: Hybrid (a minimum of 2 days per week in our Cambridge office)

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with managers, HR and Finance professionals throughout the organisation to fulfil recruitment needs effectively.
- Oversee the entire recruitment process for both employees and contractors, including database management and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) maintenance.
- Expand the network of self-employed workers and provide regular reports to stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer demands.
- Utilise various methods such as advert crafting, headhunting, relationship building and networking to source suitable candidates.
- Conduct and oversee all relevant right-to-work checks and identity checks for new employees.
- Lead salary negotiations with appropriate approvals, advocating for both the candidates and the company.
- Prioritise candidate experience while ensuring adherence to internal processes.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders across all levels, including upward management where necessary.
- Coordinate with external recruitment partners/suppliers, negotiating placement fee terms and conditions as needed.
- Assist in salary benchmarking exercises.
- Generate reports and deliver presentations on key recruitment metrics and outcomes, including presentations at board level.
- Drive continuous improvement in recruitment processes, with a focus on enhancing candidate experience and meeting hiring managers' expectations for candidate acquisition and assessment.
- Train and develop hiring managers to ensure adherence to laws, policies & best-practice principles when recruiting.
- Take ownership of our internal entry-level progression programme (UP).
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, preferably within an in-house setting.
- Familiarity with visas, UK immigration laws and conducting Right to Work checks.
- Proficiency in using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), preferably Workable.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for fostering relationships and supporting individuals in their career journeys.
- Sharp attention to detail.
- Capacity to effectively juggle multiple projects while maintaining efficiency and organisation, alongside the ability to remain composed and logical under pressure.
- Understanding and appreciation of the significance of a strong Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and employer brand, emphasising superior candidate experience.
- Confidence to challenge existing practices when necessary, fostering a culture of constructive dissent and commitment.
