We are looking to recruit a Network Engineer for a leading public sector organisation based in Warwick. This is an excellent opportunity for a Network Engineer with strong project experience to work in an enterprise environment working on some interesting projects during a period of digital transformation.
This is a hybrid role which offers flexibility, and on site working will depend on Network projects at the time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support the force's network infrastructure , ensuring reliability and security.
- Act as a network subject matter expert , providing technical assurance and guidance.
- Lead network projects , including design, implementation, and documentation of new solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and external partners to drive innovation and improvements.
- Perform impact analysis and quality assurance for system modifications.
- Balance service delivery with cost efficiency , taking ownership of technical decisions.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and managed service providers .
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in network project delivery , not just day-to-day support.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco, SD-WAN, VLAN, Static & Dynamic Routing, Azure vWAN .
- Experience with Avaya telephony (desirable but not essential).
- Familiarity with AWS, Zscaler, SolarWinds, Sentinel .
- Ability to write and maintain technical documentation .
- Experience working in large, complex organisations with supplier management exposure.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills , with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.

My client is a large and industry leading hospitality and entertainment business who operate on a global scale. Their UK headquarters are in Birmingham and they have other offices and sites throughout the UK.
The Role:
We are looking for a driven and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a close knit and highly skilled internal IT infrastructure team. You will be responsible for the network infrastructure (that underpins all business systems) for a large business you will have technical understanding for supporting a logical and physical network.
Key Duties:
- LAN, WAN & WLAN 2nd & 3rd line support, managing and providing reports, deployment of infrastructure (on prem and in public cloud).
- Ownership of process, documentation, and technical problems / issues (even when they are passed onto 3rd party suppliers for a final resolution).
- Working within Service Level Agreement (SLA) guidelines and responsible for making recommendations to change SLAs (if appropriate).
- Responsible for liaison with other members of the IT team to ensure that they are kept up to-date on relevant issues.
- Manage calls and logging through the current Helpdesk / Knowledgebase System ensuring that all SLA, Training requirement, Hardware Analysis statistics are accurate.

- Design and model water distribution networks using hydraulic modelling software (e.g. Infoworks, or similar) to mitigate risks on network interventions.
- Analyse and optimise water network performance to minimise leakage, improve pressure management and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Design diagnostic tests to identify and resolve network issues, such as head losses, leaks or pressure anomalies.
