The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition. You will inspire students to develop their practical cookery skills, nutritional knowledge, and understanding of food science and healthy living. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher:
Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in Food Preparation and Nutrition
Plan and assess in line with national curriculum and GCSE specifications
Maintain a safe and hygienic learning environment, including food safety compliance
Inspire students to explore cultural, social, and scientific aspects of food
Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular opportunities such as cookery clubs or school events
Work collaboratively with the DT team and wider school community
Ideal Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A relevant degree or specialism in Food, Nutrition, or a related subject
Experience teaching Food Preparation and Nutrition at secondary level
Up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations in food education
Strong practical skills and the ability to deliver hands-on, engaging lessons
A passion for promoting healthy eating and lifelong food skills as a Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher.
