As a Equipment Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with various teams on issues related to equipment pertaining to technology improvement, and process enhancement. A Day in the Life
As an Equipment Maintenance Engineer II, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
+ Assisting in the set up and shut down of all equipment within all operational departments, enabling the daily production plan meets set requirements.
+ Performing first-line fault finding on equipment when issues arise, ensuring controlled and timely resumption of manufacturing.
+ Assisting with validation/engineering activities to support improvements within all manufacturing department areas.

Keys To Success
Education
+ HNC with Mechanical or Electrical bias (Level 4) or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical al Engineering.
+ BSI/IET Wiring Regulations. preferably 18th Edition
Experience
+ Previous experience within a highly regulated Quality System Environment, preferably in the IVD medical devices or similar industry.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and external suppliers.
+ Exposure to problem-solving abilities, employing methodologies like DMAIC, RCA, RCCM, A3, and 8Ds.
+ Knowledgeable in multiple industries preferably within the FMCG, Pharma, or Medical Device industries.

Our client is seeking to recruit a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Technician to work for our client in the County Durham area. The role centres on a continental shift pattern, 12 hour shifts days and nights, 3 on 3 off.
This role will involve delivering planned and reactive maintenance within a high-volume manufacturing facility. The role encompasses anything from delivering line-based maintenance, to facilities maintenance, to working in the tool room undertaking up keep and repairs.

THE ROLE

We are currently working with a client based in Lydney, who are looking for a skilled mechanical fitter that can provide preventative maintenance and help with mechanical breakdown service on machinery on-site.
This role operates on a day rota pattern, shifts may range from 8 to 12 hours, based on what is needed on-site.
Working hours are Monday to Friday however you will be expected to work 1 weekend, every 5 weeks.
You will also be on a call rota 1 week in 5, for breakdown support during the evening or night.
Preventative maintenance will include:
- Transmission belt inspection, tensioning and changing,
- Inspection of bearings and couplings, alignment checking.
- Installation and maintenance of rotating equipment including pumps, refiners, paper machine rolls, agitators, fans.
- Removal and fitting of bearings and couplings.
- Repair and maintenance of all types of seals and packing’s.
- Turning, milling and grinding of components.
- General fabrication work.
- Rigging and lifting of heavy equipment.

Role Responsibilities – Mechanical Maintenance Technician
- To ensure safety standards are maintained and safe working procedures are adhered to.
- Reporting any accidents and near misses, to improve the Occupational Safety of personnel
- Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns.
- Identifying failure modes of plant equipment and returning the equipment to operation safely and in a reasonable timescale.
- To follow up all shift reports, SAP and other inspection reports detailing corrective actions

- Locating spare parts using the maintenance management system. Collecting and returning spares to stores.

- To assess all engineering plant changes using the Management of Change (MOC) system.
- Obtaining maintenance schedules from the maintenance management system (SAP) and feeding back work carried out. Work arising to be recorded using notifications.
- To liaise with engineering day teams to identify and resolve long-term engineering issues.
An ideal candidate for the Mechanical Maintenance role would have:
