I am urgently looking to recruit a contract Solution Architect for a global construction company. This role supports the Enterprise Applications function to ensure that the strategy and roadmaps are communicated and applied across the business and appropriate third parties, by providing direction and guidance on all technical and functional aspects of, and modifications to the application architecture.
The client has multiple projects on going and you will be part of a large team working on two projects simultaneously.
Essential Skills & Experience required;
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks eg: TOGAF, Gartner.
Extensive experience of designing complex solution architecture from concept to ready to build across multiple technologies.
Ability to harvest architectural patterns in order to promote reuse and consistency.
Experience of working as part of a SCRUM team, supporting design sessions and technical delivery leads in producing solution plans.
Experience of establishing applications architecture standards.
Responsibilities include:
Working with the Lead Enterprise Architect and Product Managers to understand implications of the proposed solution design on the enterprise applications strategy and landscape.
Support Enterprise Applications function in defining and maintaining the solution architecture and applications roadmap.
Ensure current architecture is defined and maintained to agreed standards, supporting and adhering to defined architectural principles.

Role description
The Solution Architect will be responsible for creating a business case to identify and select the most appropriate options for a Software as a Service (SaaS) application, whether available in the market or developed in-house. This role involves gathering and analysing requirements, designing architectural solutions, evaluating proposals through Request for Proposals (RFP), ensuring Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) are met, addressing security and IT controls, creating architectural artefacts, and leading the technical aspects of the SaaS deployment across multiple domains and Identity Provider (IdP) Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations. Additionally, the architect will understand business functional requirements to influence option selection effectively.
A key aspect of the role will entail covering Common Data Environments & Building Information Modelling (CDE & BIM) platforms. Experience or use of these would be beneficial although not essential. Understanding of system architecture in relation to CDE & BIM as well as Sharepoints / MS365 stack would also be beneficial for this role. There is a high expectation that the right candidate would be able to lead and progress with architectural type work supporting the overall product team progress with delivery.

As a Solutions Architect at Greencore, you will be providing architectural guidance, direction, design, and governance to both internal and external partners across a range of applications and technologies. You will be:

- Experience of collaborative working with cross-industry/customer teams, desirable for this to be multi-national.
- Sound knowledge of combat systems deployed in UK maritime fleet, with detailed knowledge of at least one combat system equipment.
- The post holder should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels in the spoken and written word. A good outward appearance, self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure are vital.
- The success of the Systems Engineering job family relies on the interaction of its engineers at all levels, therefore evidence of team working is required.
