Are you interested in a career in the aviation sector? Optime are looking for Security Officers to join a prestigious client at Birmingham Airport. This role is open to applicants who have no previous security experience and a genuine interest in aviation, customer service and security.

What’s on offer:
- £12.64 per hour
- Location: Birmingham Airport
- Flexible Position - You must be fully flexible to work on any day of the week, and complete a minimum of 3 days work every week
- Shift times: This is a 24-hour operation, so you will be asked to do both day and night shifts! These will be 12 hour shifts.
- You must be available to complete 4 weeks of training from above start date (the training is paid for the 4 weeks)

What you’ll be doing:
- To control access into restricted areas of the Airport including: Checking security ID, and physical searches: Body, bags, and vehicles to a minimum of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) standards of all persons and articles carried, requiring access through the Security Checkpoints.
- To carry out x ray duties of all items entering the restricted area.
- respond to emergency incidents following the agreed procedures.
- To carry out escort duties, including special events when required.
- To undertake foot patrols of operational areas and designated routes.
- To maintain a log of all incidents and provide written and verbal reports to the Security Managers and Security Supervision.
- To be compliant with Aviation Security’s local operating procedures, working practices, and protocols.
- To undertake Mandatory Training as stipulated by the company, in compliance with CAA standards.
- To meet compliance and throughput targets as stipulated by the DfT, CAA, and the Security Management Team.
- To participate in a culture of continual improvement by fully participating in the success of the business and own self-development.
- To utilize equipment only as trained in how to do so.
- To achieve an acceptable level of competence which is continuously measured through relevant performance evaluation means.
- To consistently demonstrate the positive behaviors required to support the Company's Brand Values.
