We're now recruiting for a Day Shift Manager to join us at our development, Pan Peninsula!
What you should know
Ballymore is a family-owned business, with over 40 years in business - we are remarked as an innovative and dynamic property developer citing over 80 awards in recent years. At present, we're managing 11,000 homes across 12 luxury residential developments in London and are in search of a Shift Manager to join us at Pan Peninsula in contributing to our vision. This is a fantastic opportunity for a property service enthusiast to progress their career in either customer service, facilities or operational-based roles.
Important to note
Hours: 07:00 - 19:00
Shift Pattern: 4 on - 4 off
Location: E14, Canary Wharf
Salary per annum: £35,000 to £37,000 dependant on skills & experience
Contract: 42 hpw/permanent
What you'll be doing
- Lead, manage, motivate, inspire, and develop the team to confidently deliver a dynamic residential lifestyle experience across the development. li>Actively manage the shift, dealing with all queries and complaints, monitoring and dealing with staff performance, directing and leading the in-house and contracted team working on the development during the shift.
- Provide oversight for daily operations, including security patrols and reporting, front of house services, safety or building critical works and emergency response. li>Manage and respond to any complaints in line with our complaints policy.
- Monitor operational performance against policies and procedures and recommend improvements or amendments where required.
- Conduct a daily start of shift briefing and end of shift briefing/ handover to incoming shift.
- Conduct team appraisals, reviews, and performance meetings, ensuring appropriate accreditation and training is up to date.
- Monitor BMS and take preventative or reactive action as required.
- Oversee management of all aspects of estate security and CCTV on your shift, ensuring clear communication with the security team and other site staff.
- Oversee externally provided security services partners i.e. temporary staffing ensuring operatives are inducted and have a clear understanding of responsibilities ahead of commencing a shift.
- Provide a secure environment for residents, tenants, and staff, ensuring any health and safety items are reported and correctly mitigated including reporting accidents and near misses using the A&I reporting platform.
What you'll need to be successful
- li>Previous experience managing a team and preferably working in a mixed-use development li>Knowledge and experience in the property and security sector, including regulations and requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills to encourage collaboration and motivate teams
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
- Full UK Driving Licence

This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale structural steel projects within a fast-paced and safety-conscious environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of fabrication practices and the ability to work from detailed engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings to fabricate heavy steel components (5mm–100mm plate)
- Carry out heat straightening, grinding, and structural plate preparation

We are seeking a highly skilled Multi-skilledEngineers with either Electrical or Mechanical bias, however, you must have experience in both disciplines. In this role your main responsibility is to ensure that production runs smoothly, and machine planned maintenance is adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting preventative and reactive maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, processing equipment, and packaging machinery, automated baggers, robotics etc.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues to minimise downtime and optimise production efficiency.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing equipment performance and reliability.
- Adhering to strict food safety and quality standards, always ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of maintenance strategies to support long-term operational goals.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar engineering role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in PLC-controlled machinery.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.
Working in such a fast-paced environment, you must have experience working within the food industry or FMCG. You will need to be able to hit the ground running and get stuck in. Ideally, we are looking for apprentice-trained Engineers in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
