The role

Working closely with our sales, marketing and operations colleagues across the group – Redgate’s Legal Counsel will provide general commercial & technical legal advice to the teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting all teams in all commercial contracting, sales, marketing, general commercial; and technology licensing matters
  • Leading our GDPR work, including managing our Ropa process; privacy notice updates and queries on tenders and proposals
  • Support our information security team and assist in audit preparation as and when needed
  • AI: Leading the support on our AI committee; managing the process for ai permissions and training and guidance for the entire group
  • IP: managing our trademarks and trademark strategy and assisting with the patent portfolio management
  • Developing expertise in commercial, pragmatic solutions for all parts of the business
  • Capable of seeking knowledge from other parts of the business to improve knowledge of team dynamics and information flows
  • Developing the skills to escalate issues to senior management for either clarification, ratification or attention.
  • Developing strong abilities to prioritise competing matters and seek help in prioritisation, working with greater autonomy as your abilities develop. Always seeking any guidance needed well in advance of deadlines.

What are we seeking?

  • UK qualified ideally with 1-year PQE
  • Experience within a technology business including SAAS; knowledge & experience of GDPR and technology licensing is a must
  • An interest in technology is a must
  • Organised and willing contribute to improving our workload tracking and system improvement
  • We’re looking for someone who brings positive energy into every interaction and thrives on achieving results through collaboration and teamwork
  • Role is UK based with hybrid- working – with Wednesdays in the office in Cambridge (9-5pm)
