Account Director - Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Remote (with monthly visits to client site in London)
Salary: 60,000 per annum

The Opportunity
Are you a strategic and commercially focused leader with experience in FMCG, food retail, or technical services? We're recruiting for an Account Director to take ownership of a major retailer account for a leading client services organisation.

In this high-impact role, you'll be responsible for the commercial success and smooth delivery of services to a key client. You'll work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure excellence in delivery, while driving innovation and maintaining strong client relationships.

What You'll Be Doing
* Leading and developing a key retailer account, taking full commercial responsibility
* Managing all aspects of service delivery to ensure client satisfaction
* Handling commercial negotiations for existing and new services
* Running weekly update meetings and monthly governance reporting with the client
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders
* Identifying growth opportunities and delivering against commercial targets
* Representing the business at a senior level and acting as a key point of contact
* Collaborating with internal teams and regulatory experts to deliver results

What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in a client-facing commercial role, ideally with major retailers
* Strong understanding of FMCG or food retail environments
* Knowledge of food technical, product development, or regulatory processes
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage complex workloads in a fast-paced setting
* Previous experience managing teams and driving performance
* Strong IT skills including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
* A positive, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and improve

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with corporate clients or high net-worth individuals, ensuring their insurance needs are fully met and their expectations exceeded.
  • Leverage your existing book of business to grow and expand client accounts, securing new opportunities and fostering lasting partnerships.
  • Ability to advise on your expertise within your chosen line of business.
  • Actively engage in the development and execution of sales strategies, including negotiating terms and pricing with underwriters, ensuring optimal coverage and value for your clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to offer informed advice to clients and to identify opportunities for new business.
  • Maintain accurate client records, manage renewals, and track sales activities within the company's CRM system.


Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience and relationships within Commercial Insurance (ideally Corporate)
  • A strong existing book of business that you can bring with you and continue to manage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to develop new business and work independently while being a team player.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., Cert CII, Dip CII, or equivalent).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment.
