Regulatory compliance knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental requirements, there are no specific entry requirements but relevant education and experience in mechanical, electrical, or similar fields are beneficial.

As an engine fitter is a skilled professional they are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of various mechanical systems and equipment on board a vessel. Their duties include regular inspections and maintenance tasks on engine components, including pumps, valves, pistons, crankshafts and bearings. Engine fitters will also include the work of fault diagnostics which they will be identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues such as leaks, abnormal vibrations or malfunctions.

  • Exposure to ECU controller software packages.
