• Confident on-site communicator – able to earn trust and ensure compliance from construction teams
• Physically fit – comfortable walking around vast sites and up and down hills etc
• Full UK driving licence – open to regular travel and overnight stays
• Based in Scotland or North England, with flexibility to travel across wider regions
The Package
• £35,000 - £47,000 depending on e erience

Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
- We are looking for people with previous experience working within a commercial environment, including client liaison, programme and time management, quality assurance and financial/budget control.
- You will be confident in managing more junior staff, including line management tasks where appropriate.
- Project experience in Energy and/or Water sectors along with Chartered Environmentalist status is very much desirable.
- Good understanding of environmental legislation, and knowledge of application of relevant legislation, policy and guidance in respect to impact assessment for a range of project types - Experience of the Planning Act 2008 Development Consent Order (DCO) process would be desirable.
- SESRO and other water company strategic resource option projects experience.
- Proven ability to project manage environmental projects, successfully managing teams of technical specialists and multi-disciplinary team with good analytical skills with a focus on finding solutions in relation to impact assessment technical and project management issues

Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
The position is for an Environmental Consultant to be based in our Birmingham office and focused on supporting the delivery of environmental impact assessments for projects across the UK and in particular for major national infrastructure in transport, water and the energy sectors. Clients will include private developers, public sector authorities and other organisations. Is this role right for you?
You will be a motivated and enthusiastic with existing environmental consultancy experience and possess the following knowledge, skills and attributes:
- Good understanding of environmental legislation, and experience of application of relevant legislation, policy and guidance in respect to impact assessment for a range of project types
- Have a proven ability to co-ordinate EIA, successfully working with teams of technical specialists and multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent report writing skills
- Be able to work under own initiative
- Good analytical skills with a focus on finding solutions, particularly in relation to assessment delivery and bringing together multi-disciplinary teams
- Have a focus on technical quality and excellence
Qualifications:
- Education to degree level, preferably a Masters degree
- Member of an appropriate institute - full membership or working towards full membership. This could include the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent.
