Our client is seeking an experienced Pre-sales Engineer to join their dedicated technical team based in their Theale office. You will play a key role in supporting and growing the business, with a particular focus on Unified Communications (UC) and key partner channels.
This is a hands-on technical role with a strong focus on pre-sales. Working with the sales department, your main priority will be to provide technical guidance, product demos and solution designs for their partners. You will also be responsible for providing 2nd-line post-sales support, working alongside colleagues to ensure customer issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
Additional responsibilities include delivering product training to internal staff and external partners. You will be expected to help create and deliver technical content for webinars, open days, and assist the team at seminars and industry exhibitions as required.
As the Technical Consultant your responsibilities will be to:
Pre-Sales Support
- Provide assistance to customers
- Propose solutions which meet those requirements, ensuring they are technically viable and add value to proposals.
- Understand and demonstrate products/solutions to resellers, including customer visits, seminars and trade shows.
- Help the sales team identify upsell opportunities into existing accounts.
- Help to coordinate and deliver webinars
Supplier Engagement
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, understand their portfolio
- Primary technical/product contact for UC suppliers.
- Maintain supplier technical qualifications as required
- Attend and lead meetings with suppliers
Staff Training
- Provide structured product & technology training for sales and technical staff.
- Content is generally provided by suppliers, but course development is required.
Customer Training
- Although online training is typically available, it is expected that you will also run instructor-led courses with a hands-on element to enable customers to gain their certifications in a classroom environment.
- After gaining sufficient knowledge and suitable trainer certifications it is expected that at least one supplier training will be run each month. The Trainer must take some responsibility to promote the courses, internally with Sales/Marketing teams and directly with Customers.
- Identify other commercial opportunities for 1-day technology training courses, develop and deliver them. g. SIP Troubleshooting, Wireshark, WiFi etc.
Post-Sales, 2nd-Line Technical Support
- Work with customers by phone and email to resolve technical & product related issues. Despite a large and diverse range of products our client provides a high level of technical support, generally without the need to escalate to manufacturers.
- The role is expected to have a good understanding of the fundamentals and be able to investigate & solve problems largely unaided - through documentation, remote assistance and bench testing.
- Liaise with manufacturer/supplier if escalation is required.
Ticket/Case Management
- Management of open support cases, tracking time against activities
- All team members are expected to actively manage outstanding tickets and ensure that analysis & time tracking data are recorded.
The person:
- Degree or equivalent in a computing related subject and/or have proof of a solid networking background.
Strong technical knowledge and commercial experience of supporting:
- VoIP & Unified Communications
- IP PBX - Appliance / Software / Cloud
- Enterprise / (Multi-cell) DECT
- IP Phone Management / Provisioning
Good technical knowledge and commercial experience of supporting:
- DSL and WAN routers
- Network switches and VLANs
- Firewalls and associated VPN technologies.
- Working technical knowledge of current VoIP practices, protocols, and principles.
- Ability to analyse Logs, SIP traces & PCAP generated from customer equipment.
- Adept at reading and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to confidently present webinars, training courses and seminar presentations.
- Ability to conduct research into telecommunications issues and products.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the business
- Excellent time management, particularly the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in line with business objectives

Role OverviewnThe Pre-Sales Engineer at Nuix plays a pivotal role in advancing sales opportunities by leveraging storytelling, understanding the product strategy, engaging with customers to understand their needs and effectively showcase Nuix solutions to address pain points and drive business value. This role owns all technical activities involved in the pre-sales cycle, from solution demonstrations to Proof of Concepts to solution design and deployment. This may include working on complex customer engagements involving solutions spanning multiple Nuix products. This partnership ensures that customers receive solutions tailored to their needs, enhancing their overall experience and driving our sales success.
The Pre-Sales Engineer will be seen as a market and knowledge leader on the specific Nuix Solution, able to take external industry trends and combine them with Nuix NEO & Discover capabilities to educate and evangelise to customers, partners and Nuix internal employees.
The Pre-Sales Engineer will be cross trained and able to support all core Nuix offerings including, but is not limited to, NEO Investigations & Fraud, NEO Data Privacy, NEO Legal and Discover.
This role requires a proactive can-do attitude, ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to existing and prospective customers and works well both independently and in conjunction with other teammates and departments.
LocationnThis position will be based in our London office. The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the London office for the remaining days of the week. (We are in Holborn)
Key ResponsibilitiesnClient Development
Partner with the Sales team to close new and upsell business by understanding pain points and showcasing Nuix-aligned approaches.
Drive and support large complex solution sales, generally >$250k ACV, focused mainly within the UK and Central Europe, although other EMEA coverage may be required from time to time.
Collaborate and win as a team (Pre-Sales and Sales Reps) and support with knowledge sharing by mentoring others.
Be part of a team who thrives in meeting and presenting to new prospective customers.
Conduct solution demonstrations for existing and prospective customers: onsite, at industry specific events or via teleconference.
Educate prospective customers on Nuix offerings and solutions through events and marketing initiatives.

Must be able to align solutions with customer business problems through effective Technical Discovery and Scoping. This will include scoping work for large tender/RFx.
Technical Proficiency and Collateral
Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Be the catalyst to mesh business and technical requirements into actionable outcomes.
Proficient in the Nuix technology stack, Products and Solutions and be hands on with technology.
Design and deliver proof of concepts (PoC) tailored to meet prospective customers’ business, functional and technical requirements following Project Management methodology.
Design and deliver solutions to customers, from documentation of software/hardware recommendations and workflows to deployment of the Nuix solution and conducting knowledge transfer and consultation sessions and complete technical validation.
Learn and maintain expert knowledge of Nuix solutions and workflows, including deployment, and best practices.
Generate presentations, project plans, and other technical and workflow summary documentation as needed.
Create standard demonstrations and presentations in partnership with the product leads.
Create and customize internal and external collateral to support our customers’ use of Nuix solutions.
Develop/maintain familiarity with the use and setup of common virtual and physical Nuix system configurations.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science/business related field.
5 years’ minimum experience in eDiscovery/Digital Forensics, including experience with industry standards for Processing, Analysing, and Reviewing data.
Experience with using, deploying, supporting and troubleshooting one or more of the following platforms: Nuix, EnCase, FTK, Magnet, Axcelerate, Relativity, Clearwell, Concordance.

- Delivery of technical product demonstrations with a focus on advanced Product features and API integrations.
- Build, maintain & execute demo collateral.
- Early engagement with new customer opportunities to capture problem statements, goals and identify the best fit Sorted solution.
- Capture target Carrier Services and map against the Sorted Carrier Service Catalogue.
- Classify the appropriate customer engagement model.
- Create collateral to support the sales order & onboarding process.
Requirements
- Experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer in a B2B SaaS business, demonstrating API First products & capturing customer requirements and success criteria.
- Proven experience of using APIs and technical tools such as Postman to model a customer during a demonstration.
- A solid background in logistics, warehousing or retail operations and an understanding of shipping carriers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Experience in responding to RFI/RFP’s
And it would be super great if you had:
- You know what it’s like to work in a scale up company
- An educational background in software development, such as and IT or Computer Science degree or equivalent.
- Experience working in a company where the Customer is onboarded through a consultative process (i.e not fully self serve)
