Job Description

We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our highly dedicated team based in Northampton (Grange Park 3).

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will offer valuable support to the Site Manager and team in the effective running of the warehouse operation, including inbound and outbound across the GP3 site. The role will offer a salary of £33,726.52 per annum.

This role is onsite Monday – Friday 10:00 – 18:00.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and deploy resource throughout the warehouse as guided by customer demands and volumes.
  • Manage and support a team of 4 direct reports (Team Leaders).
  • Safely manage and handle products through all inbound and outbound processes, ensuring all company procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure and supervise that all goods are handled in the correct manner to ensure that damage is kept to a minimum and manual handling techniques are followed to prevent injury and harm.
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests to support the effective running of the warehouse.
  • Supervise planned customer stock counts.
  • Deputise for Site Manager during absence.
  • Ensure any concerns, issues or variances to instructions are immediately communicated to the Site Manager to allow appropriate action to be taken at the earliest opportunity.
  • A high level of customer service communication is required.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, escalating any concerns to the Site Manager at the earliest opportunity.
  • Conduct H&S briefings where required to the warehouse team.
  • Monitoring that all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedure and following up accordingly if required.
  • Efficient reporting of near misses and incidents/accidents via company processes.
  • Attend monthly Health & Safety meetings.

Key Skills/ Experience

  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Any previous experience/good working knowledge of Pharma would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the immediate and wider team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts & to attend call outs where required.
  • WMS – OPUS/Scale/PKMS.
  • Previous Warehouse Supervisory or Team Leader experience is an advantage.
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques is an advantage.
  • Good level of general education, including good understanding of both written and verbal English.
  • Literate and numerate.

Warehouse Duties

  • All goods are booked in correctly, accurately and in a timely manner
  • All packages & contents need to be of an exceptional standard before leaving our site
  • All goods are dispatched correctly, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all goods are packed & shipped in accordance to legislation (IATA/ADR etc)
  • All courier paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • All new products are classified correctly (storage and transportation)
  • All existing products are classified correctly (storage and transportation)
  • All staff, (including you) adhere to the company's strict Health & Safety guidelines
  • To keep work area clean and tidy
  • All work areas are to be kept free of any hazards
  • Final Quality Inspection (when authorised)
  • Supplier Complaints need to be dealt with immediately and followed up to ensure a timely resolution
  • Participating in stock takes

Production Duties

  • All goods need to be decanted / cut correctly and accurately
  • All goods need to be decanted / cut in accordance to customer requirements
  • All goods need to be decanted / cut in accordance to our strict H&S guidelines
  • All goods need to be signed off for quality assurance

Supervisory Duties

  • In the Absence of the Distribution Manager assume the role of site lead including overseeing production operations
  • Communicate with staff on a daily basis ensuring all the staff know their role for the day.
  • Ensure that staff are allocated roles in a timely manner ensuring all goods inwards, orders for dispatch are processed correctly.
  • Ensure all shipments and inventory transactions are accurate.
  • Ensure all Air freight Dangerous goods shipment are processed within the company standard of 24 hours.
  • Ensure all paperwork raised for dangerous goods shipments is correct and accurate.
  • Communicate with customers in a timely manner to answer or resolve any issues.
  • Organising and maintaining inventory and storage areas.
  • Identify areas for improvement and adjust existing work procedures and practices
  • Co-ordinate activities with Customer Services team ensuring all are aware of the work that is being carried out.

Other Duties

  • Communication with your Line Manager of any important and relevant issues
  • Statistical Feedback on agreed areas
  • Uphold all aspects of our QMS
  • All processes and procedures are kept up to date
  • General Cleaning Duties

Skills Required
