We are excited to be working with a well-established electrical distributor who have a fantastic permanent full-time opportunity for a Warehouse Supervisor to join their fantastic team! This opportunity is located in the Southampton area of Hampshire.
The Role:
Our client is looking to recruit someone with previous warehouse supervisory experience, along with having strong leadership skills and recent Reach forklift driving experience. The ideal candidate will have their own Reach forklift licence, however an in-house licence with recent experience would be accepted. This opportunity requires someone who can give a hands-on approach to supervise all areas of the warehouse and be able to carry out all warehouse operational duties with the team.
Job Description:
- Oversee a variety of warehouse activities, including receiving goods, unloading containers, maintaining inventory, and managing associated records. li>Receive incoming parcels (including faulty goods) and direct them to the appropriate area or personnel.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of warehouse activities, aiming to achieve next-day delivery for customer orders at all times.
- Ensure customer orders are picked and packed accurately and loaded in a timely manner.
- Ensure all stock follows the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
- Improve the warehouse filing system to ensure all documents are well-organised and easily identifiable.
- Develop and update current warehouse work instructions and processes to maintain and improve efficiencies.
- Implement company policies and ensure health and safety compliance by performing risk assessments.
- Ensure the safety of all warehouse staff and equipment and report any work-related injuries immediately.
- Oversee training, development, and performance management of all warehouse staff.
- Optimise resource use to meet cost-saving targets, such as efficient use of packaging materials.
- Conduct regular stock counts to ensure system stock matches’ actual stock. < i>Proficiently operate material handling equipment, such as Reach forklift.
- Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff levels for effective performance and response to fluctuating workloads.
- Ensure all rework products adhere to wiring diagrams and that all wiring connections are securely tightened.
- Maintain the front and rear of the warehouse to ensure all safety and fire exits are usable.

Essential Requirements:
- 2-3 Years’ experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar (desirable) < i>Previous experience undertaking risk assessments (desirable)
