Job DescriptionAs CFO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Victim Support's future. Reporting to the CEO and leading a team of around 15, you will ensure the charity's financial sustainability and provide expert leadership across all areas of finance.
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting to support growth and long-term sustainability
- Oversee financial controls, audits, statutory reporting and governance frameworks
- Develop and motivate the finance team to deliver high-quality accounting, analysis, procurement and property management
- Ensure strong financial input into tenders, grants and new ventures, including cost and profitability analysis
- Following probation, lead the organisation's approach to risk management
- A proven track record of success in a senior finance role (in the charity, social enterprise or private sector), leading teams in complex organisations with annual income above £20m
- Experience in an executive team setting is essential
- Experience of providing financial leadership and advice in a commercial and competitive setting, including:
- Evaluating and developing new commercial service propositions
- Contract analysis and reporting in a service delivery context
- Strong emotional intelligence skills with a proven ability to motivate and lead a team to transform and deliver in a challenging environment
- Experience of implementing and exploiting digital / technology to deliver the finance function
This role will be hybrid with regular travel required for team and Board meetings to London and to other offices.
The salary for the position is £101,489.

Backed by a respected mid-market investor, the business is entering a new phase following a successful restructuring and now requires a strategic, commercially focused CFO to lead the finance function and support the next chapter of growth.
The Opportunity
This is a critical leadership role for a CFO who can bring financial discipline, challenge assumptions, and work closely with the CEO, board, and investors to drive value. You’ll be responsible for building a high-performing finance function, executing the PE growth plan, and preparing the business for a successful exit within the current investment cycle.
The ideal candidate will bring not only strong technical and commercial acumen but also experience navigating change and creating alignment in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities:
- The business has recently undergone a restructuring phase and needs a proactive CFO to instil financial rigour, drive accountability, and support the leadership team in delivering a clear, sustainable strategy.
Finance Leadership & Control
- Lead a finance function, with a clear mandate to reassess structure, strengthen capability, and ensure best-in-class controls.

What We’re Looking For
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrable success as CFO in a PE-backed leveraged environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and M&A experience, ideally across both integration and execution.
- Previously supported or led on a successful exit process
- Comfortable in fast-paced, multi-site, or project-based business models.
- Collaborative, hands-on, and delivery-focused.
